Kingsbarns distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery located in Kingsbarns, Fife in the Lowlands whisky region in Scotland.
The distillery was founded in 2014 by Douglas Clement [1] and is owned by Wemyss malts [2] with a capacity to produce 200,000 litres of spirit per year. [1]
Douglas Clement, formerly a golf caddie, was inspired to open a distillery near to the famous golf courses in the St Andrews and Kingsbarns area after visiting golfers expressed frustration at the lack of a nearby distillery. [3] After he got £670,000 grant from the Scottish Government he was able to convince the Wemyss family to invest £2.5 to £3m. [3]
The Kingsbarns distillery officially opened in November 2014, with the first casks filled in 2015. [4]
In August 2018, Kingsbarns distillery unveiled its first single malt Scotch whisky. [4]
In November, the distillery launched "Balcomie" a single malt sherry cask whisky. [5]
In November 2022, the Wemyss company announce expansion plans of the distillery with the construction of twelve bonded warehouses for whisky maturation and a bottling plant. [6]
In December 2022, the distillery announce plans to enter the United States market. [7]

Amrut is a brand of Indian single malt whisky, manufactured by Amrut Distilleries. It is the first single malt whisky to be made in India. Amrut (अमृत) or amrit is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as "nectar of the gods", "nectar of life", or "drink of the gods". The company translates it as "Elixir of Life". The brand became famous after whisky connoisseur Jim Murray gave it a rating of 82 out of 100 in 2005 and 2010. In 2010 Murray named Amrut Fusion single malt whisky as the third best in the world. John Hansell, editor of American magazine Whisky Advocate, wrote that "India's Amrut distillery changed the way many think of Indian whisky – that it was, in the past, just cheap Scotch whisky blended with who knows what and sold as Indian whisky. Amrut is making whisky, and it's very good".
Nc'nean distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Drimnin on the Morvern peninsula of the Highlands, Scotland. The distillery is beside the Sound of Mull, opposite the Isle of Mull. The distillery name Nc'nean, comes from "Neachneohain", a Gaelic legend which translates as the Queen of Spirits.
