The Kolkata Mail (via Chheoki) also known as Imperial Indian Mail during the pre-independence era, is a daily train running between two metro cities Kolkata, (Howrah station) in West Bengal and Mumbai, (Mumbai CSMT) in Maharashtra. Numbered 12321/22, the train belongs to the Mail category and is operated by Eastern Railways.
This train travels through Barddhaman Junction, Asansol Junction, Dhanbad Junction, Gomoh Junction, Gaya Junction, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki Junction, Katni Junction, Gadarwara, Itarsi Junction, Bhusaval Junction, Manmad Junction, and Kalyan Junction, to reach Mumbai CSMT, and vice versa.
A Howrah-based WAP-7 hauls the train end-to-end from Howrah to Mumbai CSMT and vice versa, via Gaya.
Before 6 June 2015, this train was hauled by a Kalyan-based WCAM-3 locomotive from Mumbai CSMT to Igatpuri.
Kolkata Mail as it is known now is one of the oldest train of Indian Railways with service of 150 years. This train was started by the British Indian Government on 1 June 1867 and was operated by the Great Indian Peninsular Railway. At that time this train was known as the Imperial Indian Mail and use to carry British officers, civil servants, diplomats and their family members from the then Bombay to Calcutta. At that time it was one of the most luxurious train of British India and the world. Later on after independence the name was changed to Bombay Mail, which then subsequently changed to Mumbai Mail after rechristening Bombay to Mumbai. Being a very popular train, Indian Railways has to start another train by the same name but via Nagpur. Later on to avoid confusion, Indian Railways changed its name to Kolkata Mail.
The 12123 / 12124 Deccan Queen is a daily Indian passenger train service operated by the Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways connecting the cities of Mumbai and Pune. Introduced on June 1, 1930, the Deccan Queen was India's "first superfast train, first long-distance electric-hauled train, first vestibuled train, the first train to have a ‘women-only’ car, and the first train to feature a dining car". The service name comes from the Marathi nickname "दख्खन ची राणी", a popular nickname for Pune. Deccan Queen is currently the fastest train service linking Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Pune Junction. It has an average operating speed of 60 km/h (37 mph) including stops, and a top speed of 105 km/h (65 mph). The train's long history and common use as a commuter train has gained it significant popularity, including annual celebrations of its "birthday" on June 1 at Pune Junction. It was hauled by a Kalyan-based WCAM-3 end to end up until June 2022. From June 2022, its upgraded coaches in a new livery are being hauled by a Ajni-based WAP-7.
The 22159 / 22160 Mumbai CSMT–Chennai Central Express is an Indian Railways train which travels between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai and Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station, Chennai. It was converted into superfast express from 1 July 2020 and the train number was changed to 22159 for Mumbai–Chennai and 22160 for the Chennai–Mumbai instead of 11041/42. It was earlier known as Bombay–Madras Express.
The 17057 / 17058 Devagiri Express is an Express train service operated by the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways. The train runs between Mumbai and Lingampalli, Hyderabad, The train is extended up to Lingampalli From 14 December 2023, primarily running on Secunderabad–Manmad section via Kalyan Junction, Nashik Road, Manmad, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Nanded and Nizamabad. The train shares its rakes with Narayanadri Express running between Tirupati and Lingampally.

The Imperial Indian Mail was a steam locomotive running from Bombay to Calcutta. The train was a part of a maritime rail system that carried mail and passengers from London to Calcutta by a mix of ships and trains. Passengers traveled by train from London to Brindisi in Italy, then by boat from Brindisi to Bombay's Ballard Pier where they could directly board the Imperial Indian Mail for a 40-hour journey to Howrah. Passengers heading to Rangoon could transfer to a steamer after a short boat ride from the rail station at Howrah to the pier at Outram Ghat.
