Lakewood Township is a township in Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 116 at the 2000 census. It borders the Lake of the Woods.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 31.0 square miles (80 km2), of which 31.0 square miles (80 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.23%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 116 people, 52 households, and 31 families residing in the township. [1] The population density was 3.7 people per square mile (1.4/km2). There were 350 housing units at an average density of 11.3/sq mi (4.4/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.72% of the population.
There were 52 households, out of which 19.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 1.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.5% were non-families. 30.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.72.
In the township the population was spread out, with 19.8% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 30.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
