Last Night at The Palais is a live album by English post-punk band the Fall, recorded at the Hammersmith Palais on 1 April 2007 and released in 2009.
The recording has historic interest as this was the last concert to be put on at the Hammersmith Palais before it was closed. [1] [2] The band had already been booked to play the venue in support of their 27th studio album Reformation Post TLC in advance of the closure announcement. [3]
In addition to group leader Mark E. Smith, the band included his wife, Elena Poulou who played keyboards and also sang lead on one track. [1] The remainder of the band was quickly recruited from the West Coast of the US, [4] as the previous line-up had been fired during an earlier tour. [1] Guitarist Pete Greenway had spent time as a roadie and dep with the band before being promoted to full-time member for this release. [3]
This release also includes a DVD which features the show filmed with Multi-cameras and 5.1 sound. [5] The DVD also contains a bonus: the "Reformation" promo clip. [6] The release features photos from the venue on the night of the show by photographer Jeff Higgott on the rear and inlay of the jewel case. [6]
The Guardian 's Ian Gittins said the line up was "the group's strongest incarnation in years". [1] Record Collector thought the line-up was "the best of recent times", and enjoyed Smith's ad-libs, including a reference to Gary Lineker as the "man from Walkers". [3]

Guitarist/vocalist Tim Presley, a former member of the hardcore punk band The Nerve Agents, formed the band in 2004 with drummer and former Nerve Agents bandmate Andy Granelli, then also of The Distillers. They were joined shortly thereafter by bass guitarist Rob Barbato, who shared songwriting and vocals with Presley, and rhythm guitarist Jared "The Sandwich" Everett. Will Canzoneri joined the band on organ and clavinet in the latter half of 2006. The band released three LPs and one EP. Presley is also a visual artist responsible for much of the band's imagery.
The TCB Band was a group of professional musicians who formed the core rhythm section of Elvis Presley’s band from August 1969 until his death in 1977. The initialism TCB stands for Taking Care of Business, a personal motto Presley adopted in the early 1970s. Although personnel changed over the years, the original members were James Burton, Jerry Scheff (bass), John Wilkinson, Larry Muhoberac (keyboards) and Ron Tutt (drums).
