Le Nord se souvient (English: The North remembers) is the second extended play by Congolese-French rapper Gims, [1] which was released on 13 September 2024, [2] which was released on 2 December 2022 on the TF1 Group and Play Two labels. [3]

History

In early 2024, Gims released several singles such as "Loco" featuring Lossa (certified platinum single), [4] "Ma douce" with Baby Gang, [5] "Sin Ti" with Maria Becerra and Joe Pesci in collaboration with Inso le Véritable not part of any album. [6] In May 2024, he released "Spider" featuring Dystinct which ranked number 1 in France for 7 consecutive weeks and was certified diamond single. [7] [8]

Then, in July, two tracks "Mamacita" with Sfera Ebbasta and "Sois pas timide" were released which ranked number 1 for 3 weeks and was certified gold single. [9] At the end of August, he released "Terminal 2F" featuring Dadju then at the beginning of September the track "Vent du Nord" was released. [10] On 13 September 2024, his second EP Le Nord se souvient was released containing the tracks "Spider", "Sois pas timide", "Terminal 2F" and "Vent du Nord" as well as three new tracks. [11] [12]

Gandhi Alimasi Djuna, known professionally as Maître Gims and more recently just Gims, is a French-Congolese singer, rapper, producer, and songwriter. The lyrics were all by Maître Gims whereas the music was by Maître Gims, Renaud Rebillaud and Stan-E Music. The album was a great success charting in France, Belgium as well as charting in Switzerland.

He was signed to the label Wati B and in 2017 signed with Polydor Records of Universal Music Group. He was a member of the musical formation Shin Sekaï alongside rapper Abou Tall from 2012 to 2016. The duo was part of the label Wati B and released the album Indéfini. The duo announced that they were breaking up so they can each follow solo careers. Dadju released his solo album Gentleman 2.0 in 2017.
