The Australia men's national cricket team represents Australia in men's international cricket. As the joint oldest team in Test cricket history,playing in the first ever Test match in 1877,the team also plays One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket,participating in both the first ODI,against England in the 1970–71 season and the first T20I,against New Zealand in the 2004–05 season,winning both games. The team draws its players from teams playing in the Australian domestic competitions –the Sheffield Shield,the Australian domestic limited-overs cricket tournament and the Big Bash League. Australia are the current ICC World Test Championship and ICC Cricket World Cup champions. They are regarded as most successful cricket teams in the history of Cricket.
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch,stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 and of the Laws of Cricket.

Gilchrist was a member of the Australian team that won three consecutive world titles in a row:the 1999 Cricket World Cup,the 2003 Cricket World Cup,and the 2007 Cricket World Cup,along with winning the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
Khaled Mashud,popularly known as Khaled Mashud Pilot is a former Bangladeshi cricketer and a captain in Tests and ODIs. A wicketkeeper and middle order batsman,he was a regular member of the national team between 1995 and 2007. Bangladeshi coach Dav Whatmore claimed Mashud as the "best wicketkeeper in Asia." He contributed to Bangladesh's first ever ODI hat-trick by taking two catches off Shahadat Hossain's bowling. After the international retirement in 2008,he continued to play domestic cricket in Bangladesh as captain of the Rajshahi Division team. Mashud announced his retirement from domestic cricket after captaining his team to win the title in 2011.
Ian Andrew Healy is an Australian former international cricketer who played for Queensland domestically. A wicketkeeper and right-hand middle-order batsman,he first played international cricket in 1988,after six first-class games. Over the next decade,Healy was a member of the side as it enjoyed a period of success. By the time of his retirement,Healy held the world record for most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper. He was a part of the Australian squad which finished as runners-up at the 1996 Cricket World Cup.
Hit wicket is a method of dismissal in the sport of cricket. This method of dismissal is governed by Law 35 of the Laws of Cricket. The striker is out "hit wicket" if,after the bowler has entered his delivery stride and while the ball is in play,his wicket is put down by his bat or his person. The striker may do this whilst preparing to receive or receiving a delivery or in setting off for his first run after playing the delivery. In simple language,if the striking batsman knocks the bails off the stumps or uproots the stumps,while attempting to hit the ball or take off for a run,he is out hit wicket.

Denesh Ramdin is a former Trinidadian cricketer who plays as a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. Ramdin formerly captained the West Indies,Guyana Amazon Warriors,Trinidad and Tobago and the Combined Campuses and Colleges. He was a member of the West Indies team that won both the 2012 T20 World Cup and the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Warren Kenneth Lees is a New Zealand cricketer and coach. He played 21 Test matches and 31 One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1976 and 1983 as a wicket-keeper batsman. He was coach of the New Zealand national cricket team between 1990 and 1993.

Todd Duncan Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for the New Zealand national cricket team. Astle began his cricket career as an opening batsman,representing New Zealand in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,but over time playing first-class cricket for Canterbury,he morphed into a bowling all-rounder. He made his Test cricket debut for New Zealand in 2012 in Sri Lanka,but did not play another international match until 2015. He represented New Zealand in all three forms of the game,but was unable to keep a consistent place in the team in any format because of regular injury problems and competition with other spin bowlers. In January 2020,Astle retired from first-class cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. In February 2023 he retired from all forms of professional cricket.
The New Zealand national cricket team toured South Africa from November 1994 to January 1995 and played a three-match Test series against the South Africa national cricket team. The tour was the third time that New Zealand had visited South Africa and their first tour to the country since the end of the apartheid regime which had led to a sporting boycott of South Africa. South Africa won the Test series 2–1,despite New Zealand having won the first match of the series - the first time that a side had lost a three-match series after having led since 1888 when Australia had lost against England. New Zealand also competed in the Mandela Trophy with South Africa,Sri Lanka and Pakistan but were eliminated in the group stage,not winning any of their matches.

He was the first cricketer to score a century in an Indian Premier League final. He is considered as one of the finest wicketkeeper India has ever produced.
Thomas William Maxwell Latham is a New Zealand international cricketer who is the vice captain of New Zealand cricket team in Test matches and One Day Internationals. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship
The New Zealand national cricket team toured Pakistan during the 1996–97 cricket season. The tour consisted of a first-class game against an invitational Pakistani Cricket board XI,followed by two Test matches and three One Day International games. The hosts and tourists shared honours in the Test series,drawing 1–1,though New Zealand won with only a narrow 44-run margin in the first Test,and lost the second by an innings and ten runs. New Zealand's Stephen Fleming enjoyed a successful series with the bat,scoring 182 runs at 60.66 in the Test series and 172 runs at 86.00 in the ODI matches,though the rest of the New Zealand batting line-up were said by the New Zealand press to have let the side down with the bat during the Test matches. Nathan Astle,questioned over his place during the tour,redeemed himself with a half century in the final ODI match to alleviate heavy media pressure.
The Sri Lankan national cricket team toured New Zealand from 26 December 2014 to 29 January 2015 for a tour consisting of two Test matches and seven One Day Internationals. New Zealand won the Test series 2–0 and the ODI series 4–2.

The West Indies cricket team toured New Zealand in December 2017 and January 2018 to play two Tests,three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Three Tests were originally planned,but it was reduced to two by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to conform to the expected tour make-up when the ICC World Test Championship is implemented. Ahead of the Test series,a three-day tour match was planned,which started on 25 November 2017.
