The 1992 Cricket World Cup was the fifth staging of the Cricket World Cup,organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was held in Australia and New Zealand from 22 February to 25 March 1992,and finished with Pakistan beating England by 22 runs in the final to become the World Cup champions for the first time. 1992 World Cup is remembered for the controversial "Rain Rule" which also ended South Africa's best chance of winning the world cup.

Denagamage Praboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who currently serves as a cricketing coach. Mahela is the most successful captain for Sri Lanka along with Sanath Jayasuriya. He made his Test cricket debut in August 1997 and his One Day International (ODI) debut the following season in January 1998. In 2006 along with his team mate Kumar Sangakkara,Jayawardene made the highest ever partnership in First Class cricket,scoring 624 runs for the third wicket in the first test match of Sri Lanka's home series against South Africa. He appeared in 652 international matches representing Sri Lanka in a career spanning for about 18 years. During his international career,he also formed a healthy relationship and friendship with fellow veteran player Kumar Sangakkara.
Deshabandu Roshan Siriwardene Mahanama is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a former ICC match referee. He was a key member for 1996 Cricket World Cup winning team for Sri Lanka. He is the first man to have stood as a match referee in a day-night test match in Test history.

The 2006 ICC Champions Trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in India from 7 October to 5 November 2006. It was the fifth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy. The tournament venue was not confirmed until mid-2005 when the Indian government agreed that tournament revenues would be free from tax. Australia won the tournament,their first Champions Trophy victory. They were the only team to get one loss in the tournament,as all other teams lost at least two matches. Timothy Grant Southee,is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays all forms of the game. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a hard-hitting lower order batsman. He was the third New Zealand bowler to take 300 test wickets. He was one of New Zealand's youngest cricketers,debuting at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his Test debut against England he took 5 wickets and made 77 off 40 balls in the second innings. He plays for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield,Ford Trophy and Super Smash as well as Northland in the Hawke Cup. He was named as New Zealand's captain for the first T20I against West Indies in place of Kane Williamson,who was rested for that game. The Blackcaps won that match by 47 runs.

He was also a key member of the team that won the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 and was part of the team that made the finals of 2011 Cricket World Cup,2009 ICC World Twenty20 and 2012 ICC World Twenty20. An occasional bowler who can deliver swinging match-winning spells,Mathews and Lasith Malinga holds the record for the highest ninth wicket partnership in ODI cricket.
The Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Referees is composed of former international cricket players who are appointed by the ICC to oversee all Test match,One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket matches in the capacity of Match referee. The referees are ultimately in charge of all international cricket matches,and act as the ICC's representative at the grounds. In addition they are responsible for imposing penalties for infringements of the ICC Code of Conduct,and so being ex-international cricketers they can ensure that the punishments dealt out are just. The referees also form part of the ICC's umpire performance review,submitting reports about the umpires after each match.
The 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in Kenya. New Zealand were crowned champions and cashed the winner's cheque of US$250 000.
