Line 16 of the Shenzhen Metro is a metro line in north-eastern Shenzhen. [1] It was opened on 28 December 2022. [2] [3] [4] It runs from Universiade in Longgang District to Tianxin in Pingshan District. It operates 24 stations and the line is 29.2 kilometers long.

The Shenzhen Metro is the rapid transit system for the city of Shenzhen in Guangdong province, China. The Line 8 Extension – which opened on December 27, 2023 – put the network at 555.43 kilometres of trackage. It currently operates on 16 lines with 373 stations. Despite having only opened on December 28, 2004, the Shenzhen Metro is the 5th longest metro system in China and 6th longest in the world. By 2035, the network is planned to comprise 8 express and 24 non-express lines totaling 1,142 kilometres of trackage.

Shenzhen Metro Line 1 runs West–East from Airport East to Luohu. Line 1 is shown as green on maps, however the band on both sides of the trains is coloured red. Traditionally, it is the most heavily used metro line on the Shenzhen Metro, serving an average of 960,000 people daily in 2014. It has since been surpassed by Line 5, but still averages over 1 million passengers per day as of March 2021, despite this number being under COVID measures.

It serves as the western terminus of Line 16 until the extension to Xi-keng opens in 2025.

Line 12 of the Shenzhen Metro is one of the four new metro lines of Phase IV expansion in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. Its construction began in 2017 and it opened on 28 November 2022. The line uses six car type A trains and runs north to south on the east banks of the Pearl River Delta.

Line 13 of the Shenzhen Metro is one of the four new metro lines of the metro's Phase IV expansion under construction in the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong. The Phase 1 South section between Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint and Hi-Tech Central or Shenzhen University is expected to open on 28 October 2024, with the rest of Phase 1 and the northern extension expected to be completed and operational in 2025, and the southern extension in 2026. The first phase of the line will be 23 km (14 mi) long and will use eight car type A trains with a maximum operating speed of 100 km/h (62 mph).

Line 14 of the Shenzhen Metro is a rapid transit line in Shenzhen. It runs southwest–northeast from Gangxia North in Futian District to Shatian in Pingshan District. Line 14 is envisioned as an urban express line with higher operating top speeds and wider stop spacings, additionally Line 14 serves as the relief line to the congested Line 3. The line is equipped with automatic train operation using high capacity 8 car type A trains. To improve journey times a number of express and direct express runs were introduced in December 2022.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Line 22 (Guangzhou Metro)</span> Metro line in Guangzhou, China

Line 22 of the Guangzhou Metro is a partially open rapid transit express line in Guangzhou with trains operating up to 160 km/h (99 mph). It runs between Panyu Square and Chentougang, passing Guangzhou South Railway Station in Panyu District, and will eventually run in a north-south direction passing Xilang and Fangcun in Liwan District. Currently, there are train attendants on board each train. In the future, trains will operate fully driverless GoA4 mode when sufficient reliability from the signaling system has been confirmed.

Line 17 of the Shenzhen Metro is a Phase V expansion metro line under construction in the eastern Shenzhen districts of Luohu and Longgang. Construction on Phase 1 started on 10 October 2023, and the line is expected to open in June 2029, which will run from Luohu West in Luohu District to Shanglilang in Longgang District, with 18 stations and 18.8 kilometers of track.

Line 15 of the Shenzhen Metro is a Phase V expansion metro line under construction, which will connect the districts of Bao'an, Nanshan and Qianhai for 32.2 kilometers and 24 stations. Construction started on 28 June 2023, and the line is expected to open in December 2028. The line is proposed to use 4 car and 6 car type A trains.
