Line 8 of the Wuhan Metro was opened on 26 December 2017 as the sixth line in the Wuhan Metro network and the third line (after Line 2 and Line 4) in the system to cross the Yangtze River.
Line 8 is 38.197 kilometers in length and is completed in three phases.
The first phase of Line 8, running from Jintan Road station in Hankou to Liyuan station in Wuchang, was opened on 26 December 2017.
The second phase takes a north-south alignment in Wuchang from Liyuan station to Yezhihu station opened on 2 January 2021.
The third phase, an extension lately added to previous Line 8 plans, runs from Yezhihu station to Military Athletes' Village station, intending to serve the athlete village and audiences of 2019 Military World Games. Therefore, the third phase was opened on 6 November 2019, [1] prior to the scheduled open date of the second phase.

Wuhan Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Wuhan, Hubei, China. Owned and operated by Wuhan Metro Group Co., Ltd., the network now includes 12 lines, 300 stations, and 486.3 km (302.2 mi) of track length. With 1.35 billion annual passengers in 2023, Wuhan Metro is the sixth-busiest rapid transit system in mainland China. There are a number of lines or sections under construction.

Line 11 is a northwest–southeast line of the Shanghai Metro network. Since October 2013, Line 11 serves Kunshan city, making it is the second intercity metro in China after the Guangfo Metro and the first that crosses a provincial boundary. With a single-line mileage of 82.386 kilometres (51.192 mi), it is the second-longest single-line subway line in China, after Line 6 in Chongqing, which is 85.6 km (53.2 mi) long. The line is colored brown on system maps.
The Guiyang Metro is a rapid transit system in the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province, China. It is operated and branded as Guiyang Urban Rail Transit (GYURT).
The Line 1 of Wuhan Metro is an elevated metro line in the city of Wuhan, Hubei. It is the longest continuous metro viaduct in the world. Line 1 opened on 28 July 2004, making Wuhan the fifth city in mainland China to have a metro system after Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou. This is the first Metro line in China incorrectly referred to as a light rail line in Chinese terminology because it is elevated. Originally a branch line was planned to cross the Yangtze to Wuchang District via the Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. The Second Wuhan River Bridge even had a provision in the central median where Line 1 trains would run in anticipation for the branch line when it opened in 1995. However, by 2003 the reservation was removed to allow for more traffic lanes when the bridge was undergoing renovation.
The Line 2 of Wuhan Metro is the first underground metro line crossing the Yangtze River. The line started its trial run on September 25, 2012, and officially opened on December 28, 2012. It is Wuhan's second metro line after Line 1, and the city's first underground line, since Line 1 is mostly elevated. Line 2 runs in a northwest–southeast direction, connecting Hankou and Wuchang, including Hankou Railway Station and major commercial districts.
The Line 4 of Wuhan Metro is the third line in Wuhan Metro system, and it will be the second metro line crossing the Yangtze river in Wuhan. It is colored grass-green, which is the identifying color of this line, which would appear on its trains, station signs, and the official subway map.
Nanning Metro or Nanning Rail Transit (NNRT) is a rapid transit system in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China.
Dazhi Road Station serves as an interchange station of Line 1 and Line 6 of Wuhan Metro. It entered revenue service along with the completion of Line 1, Phase 1 on July 28, 2004. The station situates at the intersection of Jinghan Avenue and Dazhi Road, immediately above the historic site of the Dazhimen railway station of the depleted Jinghan Railway, which exited revenue service in 1991. The station is also adjacent to Wuhan Yangtze River Tunnel connecting Dazhi Road in Hankou to Youyi Avenue and Shahu Bridge in Wuchang.
Line 6 of the Wuhan Metro was opened on 28 December 2016. It is the fifth line of the Wuhan Metro to be opened since its creation. A 7-km extension to the line opened on 26 December 2021.
