Geneviève Pettersen is a Canadian writer from Quebec. Her debut novel, La déesse des mouches à feu (2014), was awarded the Grand Prix littéraire Archambault.

Robin Aubert is a Canadian actor, screenwriter and film director. He is most noted for his performance in the film The Countess of Baton Rouge , for which he received a Genie Award nomination for Best Actor at the 18th Genie Awards in 1997, and his 2017 film Ravenous , which won the Toronto International Film Festival Award for Best Canadian Film at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.

<i>Antigone</i> (2019 film) 2019 film

Antigone is a 2019 Canadian drama film directed by Sophie Deraspe. An adaptation of the ancient Greek play Antigone by Sophocles, the film transposes the story to a modern-day refugee family in Montreal. The cast includes Nahéma Ricci as Antigone, with Rawad El-Zein, Hakim Brahimi, Rachida Oussaada, and Nour Belkhiria. It was filmed in Greater Montreal in 2018.

The Prix Iris for Best Live Action Short Film is an annual film award presented by Québec Cinéma as part of its Prix Iris program, to honour the year's best short film made within the cinema of Quebec. Starting at the 16th Jutra Awards, the award was presented to the directors and producers of the short films. Prior to that ceremony, only the directors received nominations.

Like a House on Fire is a Canadian drama film, directed by Jesse Noah Klein and released in 2021. The film stars Sarah Sutherland and Jared Abrahamson.

No Trace is a Canadian drama film, directed by Simon Lavoie and released in 2021. An exploration of the conflict between rationality and faith, the film centres on N, a cynical smuggler who is escorting Awa, a devoutly religious woman, to their country's border after an unspecified event has threatened Awa's safety.

<i>Drunken Birds</i> 2021 Canadian drama film

Drunken Birds is a 2021 Canadian drama film directed by Ivan Grbovic who co-wrote with Sara Mishara. The film stars Jorge Antonio Guerrero as Willy, a Mexican drug runner in a crime cartel who travels to Canada in search of his girlfriend Marlena after she disappears, and takes a job as a migrant worker on a farm in the Montérégie region.

Yellowhead is a Canadian short film, directed by Kevan Funk and released in 2013. The film stars Paul McGillion as an emotionally detached industrial safety inspector travelling to mining and natural resource sites along the Yellowhead Highway in rural Alberta and British Columbia while neglecting his own health.

Paradise Falls is a 2013 Canadian horror comedy short film, written and directed by Fantavious Fritz. Set in a mysterious neighbourhood that was abandoned after the revelation that it was built atop an ancient cemetery and was thus apparently cursed, the film centres on Sonny and Dirk, two young boys who decide to explore the developer's mansion and encounter the ghost of his dead daughter Eleanor.

Out is a 2013 Canadian comedy-drama short film, directed by Jeremy LaLonde. The film stars David Tompa as Geoff, a young man whose family expects him to come out as gay when he announces that he has something to tell them, only for him to surprise them by actually coming out as a vampire.

In Guns We Trust is a Canadian short documentary film, directed by Nicolas Lévesque and released in 2013. The film profiles Kennesaw, a community in the US state of Georgia where a municipal ordinance requires all homeowners to possess at least one gun.
