A short film is a film with a low running time. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of not more than 40 minutes including all credits". Other film organizations may use different definitions, however; the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, for example, currently defines a short film as 45 minutes or less in the case of documentaries, and 59 minutes or less in the case of scripted narrative films.

Cars Toons is an American animated short series based on the Cars franchise. It features Lightning McQueen, Mater, and their friends in comedic antics and adventures canonical to the films. Larry the Cable Guy reprises his role as Mater while Keith Ferguson replaces Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen until "The Radiator Springs 500 ½", when Wilson reprises his role.

<i>The Weatherman and the Shadowboxer</i> 2014 Canadian film

The Weatherman and the Shadowboxer is a 2014 Canadian short film directed by Randall Okita. Mixing live action with animation, the film depicts two brothers whose shared childhood traumas have led them in very different directions as adults: one, the "weatherman", has become a cautious, careful man who tries to protect himself by obsessively predicting the future, while the other, the "shadowboxer", has become an aggressive, violent man who is constantly fighting the past.

Canada's Top Ten is an annual honour, compiled by the Toronto International Film Festival and announced in December each year to identify and promote the year's best Canadian films. The list was first introduced in 2001 as an initiative to help publicize Canadian films.

Danse Macabre is a Canadian short drama film, directed by Pedro Pires and released in 2009. The film portrays the "dance" of a dead body twitching and writhing as it is drained of fluids in preparation for its embalming.

Pool is a Malaysian-Canadian short film, directed by Chris Chong Chan Fui and released in 2007. The film depicts a group of children playing in a swimming pool in Aceh, Indonesia, working through their fear of water following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.

Preludes is a Canadian short film series, which premiered in 2000. Commissioned by the Toronto International Film Festival to mark the event's 25th anniversary in 2000, the series consisted of ten short films by Canadian directors which were inspired in some way by the festival, and each film screened as a prelude to a feature film in the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival program.
