List of Iranian films of 2014

The Iranian film industry produced over sixty feature films in 2014. This article fully lists all non-pornographic films, including short films, that had a release date in that year and which were at least partly made by Iran. It does not include films first released in previous years that had release dates in 2014.
Also included is an overview of the major events in Iranian film, including film festivals and awards ceremonies, as well as lists of those films that have been particularly well received, both critically and financially.

Rakhshān Banietemad is an internationally and critically acclaimed Iranian film director and screenwriter who is widely considered a premier female director and her films have been praised at international festivals as well as being popular with Iranian critics and audiences. Her title as "First Lady of Iranian Cinema" is not only a reference to her prominence as a filmmaker, but also connotes her social role of merging politics and family in her work. Her signature style is that she focuses on a character representing a part of society to explore it while staying objectively neutral. The first period of Banietemad's cinematic activity originates from dark humor. Still, in the second period of her work, dark humor gives way to serious and influential films, and deeper and broader issues are addressed. Banietemad has a more realistic view of life.

<i>Che</i> (2014 film) 2014 Iranian war film

Che is a 2014 Iranian biographical war film directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia. Che depicts 48 hours of the life of Mostafa Chamran, who was then defense minister of Iran. On August 16 and 17, 1979 he was sent by Ayatollah Khomeini to command several military operations in the civil war in the Kordestan region which was besieged by anti-revolutionary forces. The film was submitted to the 32nd Fajr International Film Festival. and won two Crystal Simorghs in the fields of best editing and best visual effects. In addition to Chamran the film is also about Asghar Vesali who was killed during the war and the people of Paveh in Kermanshah province.

Parinaz Izadyar is an Iranian actress. Izadyar is mostly known for her willingness to play dramatic roles, making her one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation. She has received various accolades, including a Pesaro International Film Festival Award and a Dhaka International Film Festival Award.

Ali Zare Ghanatnowi is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, translator, cinema teacher, graphic designer, cameraman, and film producer. An active film-maker from 2000, he had been involved in over twenty films, including animations, shorts, and documentaries. Zare attained critical acclaim for directing Empty View (2017) and Dad's Fragile Doll (2013) which was awarded the best animation of International Open Film Festival (IOFF). His other film Empty View has won multiple international awards, including the best animation of Asians On Film. The music part in Empty View is made by Mohammadreza Aligholi. Empty view has been in the official selections for the best animation in Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada. This festival is among those confirmed by Oscar Academy that is held every year in Edmonton, Alberta. Ali Zare Ghanat Nowi, who had achieved this before by Dad's Fragile Doll being selected in Anima Mundi (event), now again reached this place by Empty View.

Mohammad Javad Ezzati is an Iranian actor. He has received critical acclaim for his work in a wide range of genres. As of 2019, Ezzati's starring films have grossed 150 billion toman and accumulated more than 18 million tickets, making him the highest-grossing actor in Iran. He has received various accolades, including two Hafez Awards, an Iran's Film Critics and Writers Association Award and an Urban International Film Festival Award, in addition to nominations for four Crystal Simorghs and an Iran Cinema Celebration Award.

Amir Jadidi Iranian actor (born 1984)

Amir Jadidi is an Iranian actor and tennis player. He is well known in Iran for his starring roles in Crazy Rook (2015), A Dragon Arrives! (2016), The Lost Strait (2018), Cold Sweat (2018) and Day Zero (2020), whereas he is best known internationally for his role as Rahim in A Hero (2021), which won the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Jadidi received a Palm Springs International Film Festival award for his performance in A Hero.

Laleh Marzban is an Iranian actress. She is best known for her roles in Under the Smoky Roof (2017), New Moon Hotel (2019) and Majority (2021). Marzban earned a Crystal Simorgh and a Hafez Award nominations for her performance as a working class girl who is hard of hearing in The Night Guardian (2022).

Mina Vahid is an Iranian actress. She started her acting career in 2008 with the movie Atash-e-Sabz. She is best known for her roles in Time to Love (2015), Shahrzad (2015–2016), One Night in Tehran (2019) and Maple (2021).

Mahtab Servati is an Iranian actress. She is best known for her performance in There Is No Evil (2020), which won the Golden Bear at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival. Servati later gained recognition and popularity through her web series roles in Once Upon a Time in Iran (2021–2022) and The Translator (2023).

The 38th Fajr Film Festival was held from 1 to 11 February 2020 in Tehran, Iran. The nominees for the 38th Fajr Film Festival were announced on February 10, 2020, at a press conference.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Majid Vasheghani</span> Iranian actor (born 1980)

Majid Vasheghani Farahani is an Iranian actor. He is best known for his acting in Detour (2012), Under the Mother's Feet (2017) and From Destiny (2019–2022). Vasheghani gained recognition and popularity for playing in reality shows Mafia Nights (2020–2022) and Joker (2022). He won a Honorary Diploma at the 13th Iran International FICTS Festival for his performance in the sport drama The Highway (2019).
