José Eligio Ayala was President of Paraguay from 12 April 1923 to 17 March 1924 and again from 15 August 1924 until 15 August 1928. He was a member of the Liberal Party.
The Paraguayan Football Association, is the omnibus governing body of football in Paraguay. It organizes the Paraguayan football league, including futsal and beach soccer, as well as and the Paraguay national football team. It is based in the city of Luque, near the capital city, Asunción. Football is the most popular sport in Paraguay.
Pilar López de Ayala Arroyo is a Spanish actress. She won a Goya Award for Best Actress for her performance playing Joanna of Castile in 2001 film Mad Love.
Luis López Tosar is a Spanish actor and musician from Galicia. He is one of the most recognizable and versatile actors in Spain.
The cinema of Paraguay has historically been small. However, this has begun to change in recent years with films like El Toque del Oboe (1998); María Escobar (2002); O Amigo Dunor (2005), which competed for Best Movie in the Rotterdam International Film Festival; Hamaca Paraguaya (2006), which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, gaining critical acclaim both in Paraguay and abroad; 7 cajas (2012); Latas Vacías (2014); and Luna de Cigarras (2014).
Julio César Chaves was a Paraguayan historian. He had an important role in the Chaco War as a disseminator of information and propaganda, and was also a professor, diplomat and politician.
The Humaitá-class gunboat was a two-unit class of riverine gunboats designed by Paraguayan naval engineer José Bozzano and built in Genoa, Italy, for the Paraguayan Navy from 1928 to 1931. The warships played a key role as fast armed transports during the Chaco War with Bolivia.

Miss Grand Paraguay is an annual female beauty pageant based in Asunción of Paraguay, founded in 2017 by Gabriel Roman of MGM Productions, aiming to select the country representatives to compete in various international pageants including its parent pageant, Miss Grand International, in which Paraguay won the main title once in 2018, by Clara Sosa of Asunción, and was placed among the Top 20 semifinalists three times in 2017, 2019 and 2022 by Lía Ashmore, Milena Rodríguez and Agatha León, respectively.
Guapo'y is a 2022 documentary film written, directed and co-produced by Sofía Paoli Thorne in her directorial debut. It is about the pain suffered by Celsa Ramírez, an artist, mother and fighter who was a victim of repression during the Estronista dictatorship in Paraguay. It is a co-production between Paraguay, Argentina and Qatar.
The Apartment is a 2023 Paraguayan horror film written, directed, co-produced and edited by Michael Kovich Jr. Starring Bruno Sosa and Andrea Quattrocchi accompanied with Fernando Abadie, Roberto Cardozo and Clotilde Cabral. It is about a man who wakes up and has no memory of his last days in his own apartment whose door is covered in chains and padlocks. It premiered on August 3, 2023, in Paraguayan theaters.
