Hellboy trade paperbacks

Most of the Hellboy comics have been collected by Dark Horse as trade paperbacks.

After six years Dark Horse have resumed releasing Hellboyverse comics by its original title. Following arcs have been collected in individual standard size hardcovers.

Hellboy Universe Essentials

In October 2020 Dark Horse Comics announced a new line of trade paperbacks called Hellboy Universe Essentials. [2] Each volume will center around an existing publishing line and contain the most important stories of that line. These books are designed for casual readers that wish to read the comics without having to worry about the broader continuity and ongoing plotlines.

Abraham Sapien, born Langdon Everett Caul, is a fictional character in the comic book series Hellboy, created by Mike Mignola. He takes his name from "Ichthyo sapien", the fanciful species designation chosen for him by his colleagues in the 19th-century Oannes Club, and from Abraham Lincoln, on whose assassination date the Oannes Club abandoned Abe's body in a suspended animation tank beneath a Washington D.C. hospital, leaving only a cryptic note as explanation. He is occasionally referred to as an "amphibious man."

Katherine Corrigan is a fictional character from the Hellboy and B.P.R.D. comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics and created by Mike Mignola. Her appearance is based on Mignola's wife, Christine. Within the world of the comics, dubbed the "Mignola-verse", Corrigan acts as B.P.R.D. field leader to "enhanced" agents including Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Roger the Homunculus, Liz Sherman and Johann Kraus.

Hellboy Animated includes two original straight-to-DVD adult animated films based upon the Hellboy comic books by Mike Mignola. Both films take place before the events of the 2004 Hellboy film and contain the full-length titles named Sword of Storms and Blood and Iron, received the signature of Mike Mignola and Guillermo del Toro. Like the live-action films, it was co-produced by Revolution Studios. Both films were distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment, instead of Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, and Lawrence Gordon Productions. A third film was being planned but was never greenlit. Both films were re-released in Ultra HD Blu-ray as a double feature by Lionsgate Home Entertainment on April 12, 2019.

The Hellboy Universe is the fictional universe of the Hellboy comic and its various spinoffs, created by Mike Mignola. Its first appearance was in a black-and-white, four-page promotional comic by Mike Mignola with a script by John Byrne published by Dark Horse Comics in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2, distributed at the San Diego Comic-Con. The Hellboy Universe currently spans over eighty trade paperbacks. It is also sometimes informally called the "Mignolaverse".

B.P.R.D.: The Black Flame is the fifth trade paperback collection in the B.P.R.D. series.

Tyler Crook is an American comics artist. He broke into comics in 2011 with Petrograd, written by Philip Gelatt and published by Oni Press, and in 2012 he won the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award. He is best known for his work on Mike Mignola and John Arcudi's B.P.R.D.: Hell on Earth, Harrow County, which he co-created with Cullen Bunn, and his solo comic book series The Lonesome Hunters.
