The Melbourne Renegades is an Australian cricket club who play in the Big Bash League, the national domestic Twenty20 competition. Along with cross-town rivals, Melbourne Stars, the club was established in 2011 as an inaugural member of the eight-club league. The Big Bash League consists of a regular season and a finals series of the top four teams.

Melbourne Renegades are an Australian professional men's Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital city of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. As of the 2024-2025 season, the team is coached by Cameron White and captained by Will Sutherland.
The 2012–13 Big Bash League season or BBL|02 was the second season of the Big Bash League, the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The tournament began on 7 December 2012, with the final being held on 19 January 2013.
The 2014–15 Big Bash League season or BBL|04 was the fourth season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The fourth edition ran from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. The league ran two weeks longer as compared to the previous season. The opening match of the 2014–15 Big Bash League was played between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars on 18 December at the Adelaide Oval. The format of fourth season is same as previous season. A total of 35 matches will be played during the Big Bash 2014–15 season.
Solomon Farai Mire is a Zimbabwean former cricketer. An all-rounder, Mire represented Zimbabwe at international level in Tests, One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) before announcing his retirement from international cricket in July 2019. Known for quick scoring, Mire usually opened the batting in ODIs and bowled medium pace. He also played for the Melbourne Renegades in the Australian Big Bash League.

Zak Evans is a professional Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played first-class and List A cricket for Victoria, and played in the Big Bash League for the Melbourne Renegades.

On 15 July 2020, Cricket Australia confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. The tournament started on 10 December 2020, and finished on 6 February 2021, with the majority of the matches played at night.
Peter Hatzoglou is an Australian cricketer. Hatzoglou was born in Perth, Western Australia, to a father whose family came from Kozani in Greece, and a mother from North Macedonia. He is known for his idiosyncratic bowling action, ability to bowl topspinners, sliders and googlies as well as the ability to bowl from a high release point at high pace.
The 2021–22 Melbourne Renegades Women's season was the seventh in the team's history. Coached by Simon Helmot and captained by Sophie Molineux, the Renegades were not scheduled to play any WBBL|07 games in their home state of Victoria due to ongoing border restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. They nevertheless finished the regular season in second position—their best performance across the WBBL's first seven editions—catapulted by a standout campaign from Indian marquee Harmanpreet Kaur, who was named Player of the Tournament.
The 2021–22 Melbourne Renegades season was the eleventh in the club's history. Coached by David Saker and captained by Nic Maddinson, they competed in the BBL's 2021–22 season.
Will Prestwidge is an Australian cricketer who plays as a bowler. In May 2021, along with fellow player James Bazley, Prestwidge was awarded with a rookie contract with the Queensland cricket team ahead of the 2021-22 domestic cricket season in Australia. Prestwidge also represents the Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club in Queensland Premier Cricket.
Jack Jamieson Clayton is an Australian cricketer who plays for Queensland as a batter. Clayton is also a talented Australian Rules footballer, having previously played for the Brisbane Lions academy in second tier NEAFL.

Coached by Ashley Noffke and captained by Jess Jonassen, the Heat finished the regular season of WBBL|08 in third position. For the second year in a row, they were eliminated from the tournament during the knockout phase by the Adelaide Strikers.
