This is a list of films originally produced and/or distributed theatrically by the American independent film production and distribution company Neon. The company was founded in 2017 by CEO Tom Quinn and Tim League; the latter is also the co-founder of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain. [2] [3] [4] Its first film, Colossal , was released on April 7, 2017. [5] [6] [7]

Contents

Additionally, Neon has acquired the distribution rights to five consecutive Palme d'Or winners at the Cannes Film Festival: Parasite (2019), Titane (2021), Triangle of Sadness (2022), Anatomy of a Fall (2023), and Anora (2024). [8] Parasite became Neon's highest-grossing film with more than $200 million at the box office and won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director (Bong Joon-ho). [9] [10] [11]

Firebrand is a 2023 British historical drama film directed by Karim Aïnouz and written by Henrietta Ashworth and Jessica Ashworth, based on the 2013 novel Queen's Gambit by Elizabeth Fremantle. The film focuses on Katherine Parr, Queen of England the sixth wife of Henry VIII. It stars Alicia Vikander, Jude Law, and Eddie Marsan. The film marks Aïnouz's first directorial effort in the English language.

<i>Anora</i> (film) 2024 film by Sean Baker

Anora is a 2024 American romantic comedy drama film written, directed, and edited by Sean Baker. It follows the beleaguered marriage between Brooklyn exotic dancer Anora and Vanya Zakharov, son of a Russian oligarch. The supporting cast includes Yura Borisov, Karren Karagulian, Vache Tovmasyan, and Aleksei Serebryakov.

<i>The Seed of the Sacred Fig</i> 2024 film by Mohammad Rasoulof

The Seed of the Sacred Fig is a 2024 political thriller drama film written and directed by Mohammad Rasoulof. The story centers on Iman, an investigating judge in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, who grapples with mistrust and paranoia as nationwide political protests intensify and his gun mysteriously disappears. It stars Soheila Golestani, Missagh Zareh, Mahsa Rostami and Setareh Maleki. The fictional narrative is combined with real images of the protests that were violently suppressed by the Iranian authorities.
