This is a list of PlayStation Home Game Spaces that were released in the PlayStation Home Open Beta, with the exception of the two Far Cry 2 spaces and the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune space that were released during the Closed Beta. This page also includes the list of PlayStation Home Game Developer Spaces and the list of PlayStation Home Non-gaming Company Spaces. PlayStation Home started an open beta test on December 11, 2008, and closed on March 31, 2015.

Contents

Outso is a developing company that developed some of the Game Spaces for Home. Outso was responsible for making the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , inFAMOUS , Resistance 2 and Warhawk spaces for the respective games developer. They also made the mini-games in those spaces as well as the SOCOM Telestrator in the SOCOM space. [1]

Game Spaces

This list is for all of the Game Spaces that were released in PlayStation Home. Game Spaces generally depicted a level of the game itself and had mini-games or interactions related to the game and were used to promote the game. There were over thirty Game Spaces released in PlayStation Home from either Sony Computer Entertainment or various third party developers. Clap Hanz, Naughty Dog, Incognito Entertainment, Evolution Studios, Sucker Punch Productions, and Media Molecule are developing companies of SCE.

This list is in alphabetical order by their European and/or North American names. These flags represent each region of Home. Flag of the People's Republic of China.svg = Asian Home; Flag of Europe.svg = European Home; Flag of Japan.svg = Japanese Home; Flag of the United States.svg = North American Home

Conceptually similar to Nintendo's Wii Remote and Microsoft's Kinect, its function is based around controller input in games stemming from the actual physical movement of the player. The Move uses inertial sensors in the wand to detect motion while the wand's position is tracked using a PlayStation Eye or PlayStation Camera. The device was generally well received by critics, but has not quite met Sony's goals for integration into the market.

Xi (alternate reality game) 2009 video game

Xi was the world's first console-based and virtual world-based alternate reality game. It was a one-time-only play, unfolding in real time, and only available on the PlayStation 3 through the social gaming network, PlayStation Home. The game was an adventure to help find "Jess" and the meaning of Xi by collecting fragments and butterflies found in a series of secret areas in Home that changed frequently. The game also challenged the users to search for clues in the real world. The game was created by nDreams who released several spaces for Xi. The game was promoted through a teaser campaign of clues and hints during the month prior to its release on March 23, 2009. The clues were hidden in the Menu Pad and videos in the central meeting point.

Sodium was a massively multiplayer online game that was based in and exclusive to the PlayStation 3's online community-based social gaming network PlayStation Home. Sodium was a planned four-part series of games, only two of which were released by the time of Home's closure. It was developed by Outso, a company that developed spaces and content for Home, and it was published by Lockwood Publishing, who had published other content for Home. The first part, Sodium One, was released on December 17, 2009, to the European and North American versions of Home. It was later released in the Japanese and Asian versions on June 17, 2010, and July 29, 2010, respectively. The second part, Sodium 2: Project Velocity, was released on June 16, 2011, to the European and North American versions of Home.

Kevin Butler (character) Character

Kevin Butler was a marketing character used by Sony Computer Entertainment America as part of their It Only Does Everything (2009–11) and Long Live Play (2011) advertising campaigns for the PlayStation 3 in North America. He starred as the Vice President of various fictitious departments within the PlayStation division of Sony, responding to "Dear PlayStation" queries. Due to the positive reception to the commercials, Sony extended them throughout the remainder of 2010 as well as into 2011. The character was created by Deutsch LA, the advertising agency responsible for the campaign. Deutsch/LA also managed Kevin Butler's Twitter account and wrote his E3 2010 speech. Creative Circus graduates Will Lindberg and Mark Adler were responsible for creating the "Hall of Play" Facebook application to induct PlayStation gamers into the Hall of Play by Kevin Butler.

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game console has been produced in various models during its life cycle. At launch, the PlayStation 3 was available with either a 20 or 60 GB hard disk drive in the US and Japan, respectively— priced from US$499 to US$599; and with either a 40, 60, or 80 GB hard disk drive in Europe, priced from £299 to £425. Since then, Sony have released two further redesigned models, the "Slim" and "Super Slim" models. As of March 2017, the total number of consoles sold is estimated at 87.4 million.
