This was the third time Singapore hosted the games after 1983 and 1973 competition. It was opened by President Wee Kim Wee. The Games featured 29 sports in 440 events. The final medal tally was led by Indonesia.

Freestyle skydiving is a competitive skydiving discipline where one member of a two-person team performs acrobatic manoeuvres in free fall while the other one films the performance from a close distance using a helmet-mounted camera.

Jasmine Yeong-Nathan is a Singaporean ten-pin bowler. She is the younger sister of Jason Yeong-Nathan, who is a former Singapore national bowler. Yeong-Nathan was the first Singaporean to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in 2008.

Wind Games are an annual tournament for indoor skydiving, sponsored by Windoor, a manufacturer of vertical wind tunnels. The event first took place in 2014 and as of 2017 has always been held at Windoor's facility in Empuriabrava, Spain.

Muhammad Zamani Bin Md Zamri, better known as Zamani Zamri or just Zamani, is a Singaporean professional footballer who currently plays either as a winger, striker or midfielder for Singapore Premier League club Hougang United and the Singapore under-23 national team.

Nurul Suhaila Binte Mohamed Saiful is a Singaporean pencak silat practitioner. She represented Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games and the Pencak World Championships. Nurul won her first world championship in 2018, at the 15th World Pencak Silat Championship.

Nurzuhairah Mohammad Yazid is a Singaporean pencak silat practitioner. She represented Singapore at the 2018 Asian Games and won a silver medal in women's singles event that was held at Padepokan Pencak Silat Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta. She claimed her first world title in the Female Artistic Singles Category that took place from 13 to 16 December 2018 at OCBC Arena Hall 1, Singapore Sports Hub.

Clarence Chew Zhe Yu is a Singaporean table tennis player. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Jowen Lim Si Wei is a Singaporean wushu taolu athlete.

Ang Chen Xiang is an athlete from Singapore specialising in the 110m hurdles. He has held and rewritten the national record for the event several times.

Muhammad Iqbal Abdul Rahman is a Singaporean Pencak Silat exponent. He had won the gold medal at 2018 World Pencak Silat Championships and the 2021 Southeast Asian Games. He specialises in the "Singles (Tunggal) category". Iqbal is notable for winning Singapore's first gold medal at the 31st SEA Games 2021, held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Iqbal has won the world championship title at the 18th World Pencak Silat Championship 2018 in Singapore. He is also a 4 times Asian Championship gold medalist.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Badminton in Singapore</span>

Badminton was introduced to Singapore by the British in the early 19th century. By the mid-1920s, the game became increasingly popular and spread quickly to the rest of the local population. Amid the rising popularity, badminton enthusiasts began forming clubs, or “parties”, to meet and play the game. It was during this period that the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was established to promote the sport and organise competitions. The first official annual open championships was held in that period with the best players from the tournament such as E. J. Vass, Tan Chong Tee, Alice Pennefather and Ong Siew Eng were chosen to represent Singapore in the regional tournaments.
