This is a list of Singapore world champions in sports, excluding those from youth categories and youth tournaments.
Note: Only world championships organized and/or sanctioned by the respective world's top governing sports bodies are cited.
Singaporeans participate in a wide variety of sports for recreation as well as for competition. Popular sports include football, swimming, track and field, basketball, rugby union, badminton, table tennis, and cycling. Many public residential areas provide amenities like swimming pools, outdoor spaces and indoor sport centres, with facilities for badminton, table tennis, squash among others.
Singapore Sports School (SSP) is a specialised independent boarding school under the purview of Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of the Government of Singapore that offers an integrated sports and academic programme to secondary and post-secondary students in Singapore.

Yip Pin Xiu is a Singaporean backstroke swimmer. She is a six-time Paralympic gold medalist and four-time World Champion, with two world records in the 50 m backstroke S2 and the 100 m backstroke S2. Yip is Singapore's most decorated Paralympian and Southeast Asia's most decorated swimming Paralympian.
Peter Gilchrist is a Singaporean billiards player. He won the World Billiards Championship in 1994, 2001, and 2013, 2019, and 2023.
Wushu is a successful industry in Singapore, with successful practitioners of the sport emerging from the country. Wushu was already gaining prominence in Singapore in as early as 1967. The country was hailed as Southeast Asia's "best wushu nation" in 1993. In 2000, the Government in Singapore initiated wushu into its Sports Excellence Scheme.
Veronica Shanti Pereira is a Singaporean track and field athlete who specialises in the 100 m, 200 m, 4 x 100 m, and 4 x 400 m. She holds the 100 m national record (11.20s), 200 m national record (22.57s), 400 m national record (53.67s), 200 m SEA Games record (22.69s), and the 200 m Asian Athletics Championships games record (22.70s). She was ranked 1st in Asia in 2023 for both the 100 m and 200 m based on World Athletics' records.
Stefanie Li Yun Tan is a Singaporean former professional tennis player.
Jessica Tan Wei Han is a Singaporean badminton player. Together with Terry Hee, they won their first BWF World Tour title as a duo at the 2022 India Open. Tan along with Hee also won the gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, a first for Singapore in that discipline at the Games. Jessica Tan and her husband Terry Hee were nominated for the Straits Times Singaporean of the Year Award 2022. Terry Hee and Jessica Tan are Singapore's first local-born mixed doubles duo to qualify for the Olympics, and will make their debut at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Loh Kean Yew OLY is a Singaporean badminton player. He is the former men's singles world champion, winning the title at the 2021 BWF World Championships, becoming the first Singaporean to achieve this feat.
Amita Marie Nicolette Berthier OLY is a Singaporean, left-handed foil fencer. She attended the University of Notre Dame from 2018 to 2023, clinching 4 individual NCAA Fencing Championships medals. Representing Singapore, Berthier has won 3 SEA Games gold medals and qualified for 2 Olympic Games.
Nurul Suhaila Binte Mohamed Saiful is a Singaporean pencak silat practitioner. She represented Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games and the Pencak World Championships. Nurul won her first world championship in 2018, at the 15th World Pencak Silat Championship.
Farhanna Farid is a Singaporean powerlifter. She is a 2-time Asian champion and a 4-time national champion. As of 2022, she has broken 6 Asian records and a world record and is also the first Singaporean to win an overall gold medal in an international competition for the female's open category. She made her international competition debut in the 2018 Asian Classic Powerlifting Championships winning three golds.
Nurzuhairah Mohammad Yazid is a Singaporean pencak silat practitioner. She represented Singapore at the 2018 Asian Games and won a silver medal in women's singles event that was held at Padepokan Pencak Silat Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta. She claimed her first world title in the Female Artistic Singles Category that took place from 13 to 16 December 2018 at OCBC Arena Hall 1, Singapore Sports Hub.
Jowen Lim Si Wei is a Singaporean wushu taolu athlete.
Marc Brian Louis is a Singaporean athlete specialising in sprints and hurdles. He is the current national record holder for the 100 m (10.27s) and 60 m (6.69s).
Muhammad Iqbal Abdul Rahman is a Singaporean Pencak Silat exponent. He had won the gold medal at 2018 World Pencak Silat Championships and the 2021 Southeast Asian Games. He specialises in the "Singles (Tunggal) category". Iqbal is notable for winning Singapore's first gold medal at the 31st SEA Games 2021, held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Iqbal has won the world championship title at the 18th World Pencak Silat Championship 2018 in Singapore. He is also a 4 times Asian Championship gold medalist.
Badminton was introduced to Singapore by the British in the early 19th century. By the mid-1920s, the game became increasingly popular and spread quickly to the rest of the local population. Amid the rising popularity, badminton enthusiasts began forming clubs, or “parties”, to meet and play the game. It was during this period that the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was established to promote the sport and organise competitions. The first official annual open championships was held in that period with the best players from the tournament such as E. J. Vass, Tan Chong Tee, Alice Pennefather and Ong Siew Eng were chosen to represent Singapore in the regional tournaments.
