The 420 World Championships is an annual international sailing regattas in the 420 class organized by the International 420 Class Association and recognised by World Sailing. They have been held every year since 1973 the year in which the class gained status from World Sailing.
The 420 Team Racing World Championship is an sailing regattas in the 420 class organized by the International 420 Class Association and recognised by World Sailing.
The 420 (dinghy) has also been used in Youth Sailing World Championships Formerly (IYRU Youth World, ISAF Youth Worlds) and the IYRU Women's Sailing World Championships and in Team Racing World Championships.

World Sailing (WS) is the international sports governing body for sailing; it is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The International 420 Dinghy is a sailing dinghy popular for racing and teaching. The hull is fiberglass with internal buoyancy tanks. The 420 has a bermuda rig, spinnaker and trapeze. It has a large sail-area-to-weight ratio, and is designed to plane easily. The 420 is an International class recognised by World Sailing. The name refers to the boat's length of 420 centimetres.
The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.
The 470 World Championships have been held every year since 1970 and organised by the club on behalf of the International 470 Class Association and recognized by World Sailing. When the Championship forms part of the ISAF Sailing World Championships.
The 1966 World Rowing Championships was the second time that world championships in rowing were held. The regatta was held from 8 to 11 September at Lake Bled in Bled, Slovenia, Yugoslavia. There were 613 rowers from 32 countries who competed in the seven Olympic boat classes. Marketing and advertising for the event were handled by Cesar Lüthi.
The 1970 World Rowing Championships was the 3rd World Rowing Championships. It was held in 1970 at the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The competition involved seven events. Prior to the 4th World Rowing Championships in 1974, only men competed.
The ILCA 7 World Championship, until 2020 the Laser World Championship, has been held every year since 1974, organized by the World Sailing.
Europe World Championships are World sailing championships in the Europe class that have been held annually since 1966.
The Star European Championships are international sailing regattas in the Star class. The championships are open to sailors of all nationalities.
The Flying Dutchman World Championship, also known as FD Worlds, are international sailing regattas in the Flying Dutchman class organized by the International Flying Dutchman Class Organization since 1956 and recognised by World Sailing.
The Tornado World Championship are international sailing regattas in the Tornado class organized by the International Sailing Federation and the International Tornado class Association.
The Women's ILCA 6 World Championship, until 2020 the Women's Laser Radial World Championship, has been held every year since 1980, organised by the International Sailing Federation. Laser Radial is an Olympic sailing class. The event was held together with the Men's Laser Radial World Championships between 1989 and 2010.
The 1965 European Rowing Championships were rowing championships held on the Wedau regatta course in the West German city of Duisburg. This edition of the European Rowing Championships was held from 20 to 22 August for women, and from 26 to 29 August for men. Women entered in five boat classes, and 12 countries sent 36 boats. Men competed in all seven Olympic boat classes, and 22 countries sent 89 boats. East German crews did not attend the championships.

The Finn European Championship is an annual European Championship sailing regatta in the Finn (dinghy) classes organised by the International Finn Association.
Dragon European Championship is an annual European sailing regatta in the Dragon class organised by the International Dragon Association.
The Soling European Championship is an International sailing regatta in the Soling organized by the International Soling Association under auspiciën of World Sailing. Over 50 Soling European Championship were held. The popularity grew during the Olympic period of the Soling. After that era the event continued and is still reasonable successful. The Soling European Championship is an "Open" event. This means that competitors from all over the world are eligible to enter.
The Optimist World Championship is an annual World Championship sailing regatta in the Optimist class organised by the International Optimist Dinghy Association.
The 1894 European Rowing Championships were rowing championships held on the Saône in the French city Mâcon on 16 September. The competition was for men only, and the regatta had four boat classes. This was the second edition of the European Rowing Championships and the first time that the coxed pair boat class was included.
The 1900 European Rowing Championships were rowing championships held in Paris on the Seine in early September. The 1900 regatta was held between the Courbevoie Bridge and the Asnières Bridge, the same venue that had been used for the 1900 Summer Olympics a week earlier. The length of the regatta course was 1,750 metres (5,740 ft). The competition was for men only and they competed in five boat classes.
