The Dragon World Championship is an international biennial sailing regatta in the Dragon class organized by the International Sailing Federation and the International Dragon Association. [1]
Several sailors have won twice; Jesper Bank, Johan Palmqvist, Ole Børresen, Poul Richard Høj Jensen, Vincent Hoesch, and Erik Hansen all have two titles. Danish crews have won most championships, on eight occasions.
The Dragon was an Olympic class from 1948 to 1972.
The first Dragon World Championship was held in 1965.

The Laser Radial or ILCA 6 is a popular one-design class of small sailing dinghy, originally built by Laser Performance. It is a singlehanded boat, meaning that it is sailed by one person. The Laser Radial is a variant of the Laser Standard, with shorter mast and reduced sail area, allowing light sailors to sail in heavy winds. The International Class is recognised by World Sailing.
The Soling is an open keelboat that holds the World Sailing "International class" status. The class was used from the 1972 Olympics until the 2000 Olympics as "Open three-person keelboat". Besides the Olympic career of the Soling the boat is used for international and local regattas as well as for recreational sailing. The Soling is managed by the International Soling Association under auspician of World Sailing since 1968.
The Dragon is a one-design keelboat designed by Norwegian Johan Anker in 1929. In 1948 the Dragon became an Olympic Class, a status it retained until the Munich Olympics in 1972. The Dragon's long keel and elegant metre-boat lines remain unchanged, but today Dragons are constructed using the latest technology to make the boat durable and easy to maintain. GRP construction was introduced in 1973 and the rigging has been regularly updated.
Poul Richard Høj Jensen "PRHJ" is a Danish sailor, boatbuilder, sailmaker and Olympic champion. Høj Jensen lives with his wife Sophia alternating in Burnham-on-Crouch and Freetown, Antigua and Barbuda.
The 470 World Championships have been held every year since 1970 and organised by the club on behalf of the International 470 Class Association and recognized by World Sailing. When the Championship forms part of the ISAF Sailing World Championships.
The 49er World Championships are international sailing regattas in the 49er and 49er FX classes organized by the International Sailing Federation. It was first held in 1997. In 2013, the 49er FX class was added to the programme.
The ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships was first held in Sweden in 1971 and it has been held every year since. It is one of the key events of the federation to help promote top-level youth participation.
Europe World Championships are World sailing champinships in the Europe class that have been held annually since 1966.
Theis Palm is a Danish sailor in the Soling, Dragon, H-boat and Folkboat classes. He won the 2009 Dragon World Championship together with Poul Richard Høj Jensen and Lars Jensen.
Claus Høj Jensen is a Danish sailor and sail maker. He is competing in the Dragon, H-boat, Yngling and OK classes. He is the son of Poul Richard Høj Jensen. Høj Jensen represents Herslev Strand Sejlklub. He runs the sail making loft Høj Jensen Sails.
Ole Børresen was a Danish sailor in the Dragon class. He became World Champion in 1993 and 1997 crewing for Jesper Bank. He is the son of Børge Børresen.
