Brain Drayne

Would-be inventor Private "Brain" Drayne tries to come up with numerous secret weapons for the army with fellow squaddies Ben Bonkers and Dan Dimm, much to the annoyance of platoon NCO Sgt. Slaughter.
After his ship is sunk by a U-Boat, Hercules Hurricane becomes so furious at the mere mention of Germans that he flies into an unstoppable "ragin' fury". The Royal Marines soon see the use in this ability, and point Hurricane at various Axis formations. He is accompanied by his former first mate and reluctant adjutant "Maggot" Malone.
Nigel Carfax-Carruthers enrols at the prestigious Kenelm College as a condition for receiving his inheritance. However, the faculty are stunned when the new pupil insists on being referred to as Tex, having been raised on a Texas ranch. His cowboy ways are popular with his peers, but troublesome for the staff.
Apprentice to the 13th century sorcerer Astorath, young Danny Doom is catapulted forward to the present day when an experiment misfires, getting help from a girl called Carol.
The presence of a female character was rare for a British boys' comic strip of the time.[15] The character was later given a lead role in Albion, which made him the son of previously unrelated magician Cursitor Doom.[16][17] A more traditional version of Danny made a brief cameo in The Vigilant.
Death Wish

In order to stave this off, Butler Jarvis and other staff from Plonkton help Nobbins in his endeavours.

Valiant was a weekly British comics periodical published by Fleetway Publications and later IPC Magazines from 4 October 1962 to 16 October 1976. A boys' adventure comic, it debuted numerous memorable characters, including Captain Hurricane, The Steel Claw and Mytek the Mighty. Valiant lasted for 712 issues before being merged with stablemate Battle Picture Weekly.
Buster Capp is a British comic strip series which debuted on 28 May 1960 in the magazine Buster and ran until January 2000. The character was the mascot of the magazine too. The series is a spin-off of Andy Capp, starring Andy's young son Buster, despite not being drawn by the original artist of that comic, Reg Smythe. The first artist was Bill Titcombe, but Hugh McNeill took over as artist after less than a year. After a few years Àngel Nadal took over and drew the strip until 1974, when he was followed by Reg Parlett. Tom Paterson in turn took over from Parlett in 1985 and drew the strip until 1990. Jimmy Hansen then became the strip's artist until the magazine folded in 2000; the magazine started using reprints of Hansen's earlier strips in 1998, but he still drew a complete new strip once a month, along with covers for every magazine until the end of its life.

Vulcan was a British weekly boys' comic published by IPC Magazines from 1 March 1975 to 3 April 1976, when it merged with Valiant. Written by Tom Tully and primarily illustrated by Eric Bradbury, the strip centred on the exploits of genius inventor Eric Dolmann and his army of crime-fighting robot 'puppets'.
Jet was a weekly British comics periodical published by Fleetway Publications from 1 May to 25 September 1971. A boys' adventure comic, the title only lasted for 22 editions before being merged with another Fleetway title, the long-established Buster.
