Punjab and Haryana High Court is the common High Court for the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh based in Chandigarh, India. Sanctioned strength of Judges of this High Court is 85 consisting of 64 Permanent Judges and 21 Additional Judges including Chief Justice. As of 14 September 2023, there are 58 Judges working in the High Court, comprising 36 Permanent and 22 Additional Judges.

East Punjab was a province of India from 1947 until 1950. It consisted parts of the Punjab province that remained in India following the partition of the province between the new dominions of Pakistan and the Indian Union by the Radcliffe Commission in 1947. Raj Bhavan, Punjab is the Raj Bhavan or official residence of the governor of Punjab. Punjab Raj Bhavan is located in Chandigarh, the shared capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana, on the shore of Sukhna Lake just south of Haryana Raj Bhavan, residence of the governor of Haryana. Since 1985, the governor of Punjab has also acted as the administrator of Chandigarh.

The Government of Punjab, also known as the State Government of Punjab or locally as the State Government, is the supreme governing authority of the Indian state of Punjab and its 23 districts. It consists of an executive, led by the Governor of Punjab, a judiciary and a legislative branch.

Chandigarh Metro is an approved rapid transit system to serve the Chandigarh Capital Region, which includes Chandigarh and adjacent areas in Punjab and Haryana states of India. In Phase-1, to be progressively built and operationalised between 2027 to 2034, 3 lines will connect tri-cities of Chandigarh, Mohali in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana. Phase-2, to be constructed after 2034, will connect Pinjore in Haryana and further expand the network in Mohali with 2 more lines. The project, which was initially scrapped in 2017 due to low financial viability, was approved in March 2023 and received formal clearance in July 2023 from the governments of Punjab and Haryana after a Detailed Project Report (DPR) was created.

Banwarilal Purohit is an Indian politician who served as 29th Governor of Punjab, India and Administrator of Chandigarh till 3 February 2024. He was the former Governor of Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2021, and former Governor of Assam from 2016 to 2017. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was a Member of Parliament from the Nagpur three times, twice as an Indian National Congress member, once as a BJP member.

Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Chandigarh also known as GCCBA Chandigarh is a constituent college of the Panjab University, located in Chandigarh, India. It is an initiative of the Chandigarh Administration. GCCBA was established with a view to cater to growing demand for commerce and management education in Chandigarh. Since its inception, the college is co-educational.

The Rose Festival of Chandigarh is a floral festival held every year in February in the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden of sector 16, Chandigarh, India. The 2018 festival was held from 23 February 2018 to 25 February 2018, and featured musical events, helicopter rides, and a dog show. The 2018 festival also had for the first time a stall to promote transgender awareness.

Lieutenant General Bakshi Krishan Nath Chhibber is an Indian military veteran who has also served as Administrator of Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab from 18 September 1994 to 27 November 1999. As member of the 9th Gorkha Rifles he received all the three Peacetime distinguished service awards of Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
