A number of auto dealership, auto service, and auto repair shop buildings are notable. A number of these are listed on historic registers, including some in the United States whose notability is documented by their listing the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Many auto dealership showroom buildings also include auto servicing areas. This list is intended to include all notable showroom buildings, with or without associated auto service or auto repair facilities, and to include independent auto service or repair facilities.

Turkey

One of the biggest collections of showrooms of any kind is a 216,000-square-metre (2,330,000 sq ft) car showroom complex in Istanbul called Autopia Europia. [1] [2]

United Arab Emirates

One of the world's largest showrooms of any kind is the 35,000 square metres (380,000 sq ft) BMW showroom in Abu Dhabi. [3] [4] Another notable showroom in UAE is designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott. Lamborghini unveiled its largest showroom in the world, a 30,000 sq. ft facility in Dubai. [5]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Griffin Auto Company Building</span> United States historic place

The Griffin Auto Company Building is a historic automobile sales and service facility at 117 East Locust Street in El Dorado, Arkansas. It is a single story structure built out of reinforced concrete, with a full basement. The main floor housed the sales and showroom area, and the service area was in the basement. The building also includes a filling station area, which is the most decorative portion of the otherwise utilitarian structure. This area has pilastered columns that frame the automobile entry area, and the walls above the shelter entrance is decorated with bands of terra cotta and brick ornamentation. The Griffin Auto Company was established by three brothers from North Carolina, beginning as a livery stable business in 1899 before branching out into the new world of the automobile in 1915. They moved out of the building in 1960, since when it has been used by a variety of other sales-oriented businesses. In 2017, the Griffin Restaurant opened as part of the Murphy Arts District. Four years later, it became the MuleKick.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">C.B. Case Motor Co. Building</span> United States historic place

The C.B. Case Motor Co. Building is a historic commercial building at West Main and Howard Streets in downtown Mountain View, Arkansas. Built in 1928 by the locally prominent Brewer brothers, this stone building was the first automobile dealership and service station in Stone County. It is a two-story structure, with an angled open service area at the corner, behind which are lined plate glass windows to the showroom. It is also one of the community's largest commercial buildings.

Homer B. Roberts (1885–1952) was a graduate of Kansas State Agricultural College and veteran of World War I who was the first black man to attain the rank of lieutenant in the United States Army Signal Corps. He began his auto business by placing ads in the local paper advertising used cars. By the end of 1919, Roberts had negotiated over 60 car sales exclusively for African-American buyers. He hired two salesmen to work his lot, offered auto insurance and payment terms to customers, and later founded Roberts Motors, the first African-American owned car dealership in the United States.

The Colman Automotive Building is a building located at 401 E. Pine Street in Seattle, Washington. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">H. H. Bryant Garage</span> United States historic place

The H.H. Bryant Garage in Boise, Idaho, was a 2-story brick building designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel and constructed by contractor J.O. Jordan in 1917. The garage, also known as the Ford Building, originally was a showroom and service center for Ford cars and trucks. The building featured nine window bays on Front Street and seven bays on 11th Street, and the bays were separated by ornamented, stone capped pilasters that terminated at the second floor roof and well below the flat parapet. Parapet crests over the corner bays featured outset coping and notched shoulders. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982. The building was demolished in 1990.
