Daejeon is South Korea's fifth-largest metropolis, with a population of 1.5 million as of 2019. Located in the central-west region of South Korea alongside forested hills and the Geum River, the city is known both for its technology and research institutions, and for celebrating its natural environment, with most mountains, hot springs, and rivers freely open for public use. Daejeon serves as a hub of transportation for major rail and road routes, and is approximately 50 minutes from the capital, Seoul, by KTX or SRT high speed rail.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gupo station</span>

Gupo station is a station on the Gyeongbu Line It is located in northern Busan, South Korea, and was opened on 1 January 1905. Many trains stop here. It is also connected with the subway station Gupo station on Busan Metro Line 3 via an overhead bridge, so passengers can transfer to Busan Subway Line 3.

The K League All-Star Game is an annual association football exhibition match organised by the South Korean K League. The inaugural match was held in 1991.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Highlight (band)</span> South Korean boy band

Highlight is a South Korean boy band formerly known as Beast. The band consists of four members: Yoon Doo-joon, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang, and Son Dong-woon. Originally a six-piece band, Jang Hyun-seung departed from the group in April 2016, and Yong Jun-hyung departed in March 2019. In late 2016, the group moved labels from Cube Entertainment to Around Us Entertainment and subsequently changed their name to Highlight in 2017.

Wolmido (월미도), also known as Wŏlmi-do, is an island 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) off the coast of South Korea near Incheon. It was connected to the mainland by a highway in 1989, and was later connected by a monorail which opened in late 2019. It is a weekend destination and tourist area, with restaurants, the theme park Play Hill and the areas Meeting Square, Arts Square, Performance Square, and Good Harvest Square.

Air Seoul is a South Korean low-cost carrier and a subsidiary of Asiana Airlines. The airline is based at Incheon International Airport in Seoul, from which it operates flights to international destinations. It launched operations on 11 July 2016.

Hong Gi was the wife of South Korean President Choi Kyu-hah. She was the first lady when Choi Kyu-hah was in office, from 1979 to 1980.

Young In Hong is a visual artist from Seoul, Korea, based in Bristol, England. Hong graduated with an MA and a PhD in Art from Goldsmith College in London UK in 2012. From 1992 to 1998, she studied Sculpture at Seoul National University. Hong currently works from her studio at Spike Island in Bristol and is represented by PKM Gallery in Seoul. She teaches at Bath School of Art as Reader in Performance and Textiles.

In South Korea, the Candlelight rallies., also referred to as the Candlelight Struggle, Candlelight Revolution, or a candlelight cultural festival and is also attended with a humorous props and banner along with candles. Candlelight protests is a symbolic collective gathering of political dissent in South Korea to combat injustice peacefully. This method of protesting began in 1992 for opposing the charging of online service. After that in 2002, as a result of the Yangju highway incident, was utilized in the rallies against the impeachment of Roh Moo-hyun in 2004, re-used again in the 2008 U.S. beef protests, and emerged in the 2016-18 President Park Geun-hye protests.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">K-Quarantine</span> South Korean COVID-19 control strategy

K-quarantine is a term introduced in 2020 to describe the strategy used by Republic of Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit the spread of the virus, including a quarantine system, outreach campaigns, testing, and contact tracing. The term "K-quarantine" was first introduced by the South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The Train to Busan film series consists of South Korean action-horror zombie films, developed and produced by Next Entertainment World. The installments include a theatrical movie, an animated prequel that was released in theaters in the international market, and a standalone sequel that had a limited theatrical release. Based on an original story by Park Joo-suk, the premise centers around a zombie epidemic outbreak that originates in South Korea. Each respective installment details the struggles of the primary characters to withstand the advances of the undead, and survive the events to make their escape.

La Poem is a South Korean male crossover vocal group, composed of four classically-trained singers Chaehoon You, Kihun Park, Minseong Jeong, and Sunghoon Choi. La Poem was formed in July 2020 via a reality audition TV show Phantom Singer Season 3, and has been actively performing in various venues.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jung Jae-il</span> South Korean composer

Jung Jae-il is a South Korean music composer. He notably composed the score of award-winning movies Okja and Parasite, both directed by Bong Joon-ho, as well as the score of the television series Squid Game, the latter earned a nomination for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music in 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Kim Ok-suk is the widow of South Korean President Roh Tae-woo. She was the first lady when Roh Tae-woo was in office, from 1988 to 1993.

Yoon Seung-min, known professionally as Mudd the Student, is a South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter. He first garnered attention when he appeared on the rap competition TV show Show Me the Money 10 in 2021.
