Nureddin Ibrahim Pasha, known as Nureddin İbrahim Konyar from 1934, was a Turkish military officer who served in the Ottoman Army during World War I and in the Turkish Army during the Western Front of the Turkish War of Independence. He was called Bearded Nureddin because being the only high-ranking Turkish officer during the Turkish War of Independence sporting a beard. He is known as one of the most important commanders of the war. He ordered several murders and massacres.

The XVII Corps of the Ottoman Empire was one of the corps of the Ottoman Army. It was formed during World War I.
The Great Offensive was the largest and final military operation of the Turkish War of Independence, fought between the Turkish Armed Forces loyal to the government of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and the Kingdom of Greece, ending the Greco-Turkish War. The offensive began on 26 August 1922 with the Battle of Dumlupınar. The Turks amassed around 98,000 men, the largest number since the beginning of the war, to begin the offensive against the Greek army of approximately 130,000 men. From 31 August to 9 September, the front moved a distance of 300 km (190 mi) as the Greek troops retreated. The Turkish army lacked motorized vehicles; its forces consisted of infantry and cavalry units, and logistical support was provided by a supply system based on ox carts.

Yakup Şevki Subaşı, also known as Yakub Shevki Pasha, was a general of the Ottoman Army and the Turkish Army. He participated in the Defense of Gallipoli during World War I and after the war, fought in the Turkish War of Independence.
Kâzım Dirik was an officer of the Ottoman Army and a general of the Turkish Army. During his political career he was Governor of Izmir between 1926 and 1935. In cooperation with the Peoples Houses, he encouraged the campaign which demanded from the population to only speak Turkish in 1934. After 1935, he also became the Inspector General of the Second Inspectorate-General in the Turkish western provinces and was involved in the Turkification and resettlement program of the Turkish Government. He presented the idea of the "Ideal Republican Village".
Rüştü Pasha or Rushdi Pasha was an officer of the Ottoman Army and a general of the Turkish Army. He became a leader of the Progressive Republican Party, being a member of its Central Administrative Committee. He was hanged for his involvement in the İzmir assassination attempt against Mustafa Kemal (Atatürk) in 1926.

Abdurrahman Nafiz Gürman was an officer of the Ottoman Army and a general of the Turkish Army. He fought in the Caucasus campaign during World War I. He later joined the forces of Atatürk and participated in the Turkish War of Independence. After his retirement in 1949, he was Ambassador to South Korea and Iran, until 1959.

Osman Zati Korol was an officer of the Ottoman Army and later a general of the Turkish Army. A native of Smyrna, he participated in the Caucasus campaign against the Russians during World War I. He later led the defence and recapture of Izmir from the Greek Army during the Turkish War of Independence.
Mehmet Hulusi Conk was an officer of the Ottoman Army and the Turkish Army. He is known for his achievements during the Gallipoli campaign of World War I and later during the Turkish War of Independence where he joined the forces of Mustafa Kemal and fought against the Greeks and the Allies.
The Turkish Capture of Smyrna, or the Liberation of İzmir marked the end of the 1919–1922 Greco-Turkish War, and the culmination of the Turkish War of Independence. On 9 September 1922, following the headlong retreat of the Greek army after its defeat at the Battle of Dumlupınar and its evacuation from western Anatolia, the Turkish 5th Cavalry Corps under the command of Major-General Fahrettin Altay within Turkish Army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Pasha marched into the city of Smyrna, bringing three years of Greek occupation to an end.
Mustafa Rüştü Erdelhun was a Turkish general who served as the 10th chief of the Turkish General Staff in the Turkish Armed Forces from 23 August 1958 to 27 May 1960, and the 9th commander of the Turkish Land Forces from 1 August 1958 to 21 August 1958. He also served as commander of the 18th Corps and the Second Army.
Ahmet Nurettin Baransel was a Turkish general who served as the 7th chief of the Turkish General Staff from 28 May 1954 to 25 August 1955, 4th commander of the Turkish Land Forces from 25 June 1956 to 16 September 1957, 12th commander of the First Army from 4 November 1952 to 6 April 1954, and the 11th commander of the Third Army.
