The San Diego International Film Festival is an independent film festival in San Diego, California, produced by the nonprofit San Diego Film Foundation. The main event has traditionally been held annually in autumn at venues in the Gaslamp Quarter, La Jolla, and Balboa Park.

The Champs-Élysées Film Festival is a film festival that takes place annually in Paris, France. The festival consists of French and American feature-length films and short films. There are competitive films that may be eligible for several awards, and a group of out-of-competition selections like retrospectives and avant-premieres. Two film industry-targeted events are hosted alongside the Festival: the US in Progress Paris program and the Paris Coproduction Village, the latter co-organized with Les Arcs European Film Festival. Around 25,000 spectators and professionals attend the festival each year, and 60,000 people attended the free-of-charge, digital 2020 screenings.

1091 Pictures was an American production company based in New York City and Los Angeles. The company was founded as the film and television division subsidiary of The Orchard in 2015. The company is best known for the Oscar-nominated films Life, Animated and Cartel Land. Sony divested the company and its catalogue of over 4,000 in 2019, with the company adopting the name 1091 Media. In 2020, the company rebranded as 1091 Pictures and announced that its parent company rebranded as Streamwise, the name of its new technology platform in development.

Friend of the World is a 2020 American independent black-and-white film written and directed by Brian Patrick Butler in his feature film debut, starring Nick Young and Alexandra Slade. The surreal experimental film takes place post-apocalypse and tells the story of a young filmmaker (Slade) and a military general (Young) trapped in a bunker with a mysterious threat.

Mark Atkinson is an American actor, filmmaker and comedian who appeared in the films Skin: The Movie (2020) and Hemet, or the Landlady Don't Drink Tea (2023), and produced the short films Pulp Friction (2021) and Leave 'Em Laughing (2020). Atkinson won Best Supporting Actor at World Music & Independent Film Festival and received acting nominations at Austin Revolution Film Festival and Oceanside International Film Festival.
Ray Gallardo is an American film director and cinematographer who directed the films At the Frontera (2018) and Callejero (2015) and was the cinematographer for the films Friend of the World (2020),The Fifth of November (2018) and Touch (2022).

He was awarded Best Dramatic Screenplay at the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival in 2016 and received several nominations at the GI Film Festival San Diego in 2017.
Michael Lewis Foster is an American filmmaker who directed the film To Fall in Love (2023) and wrote and directed the short film Hush (2016). He has won awards at Horrible Imaginings Film Festival and Oceanside International Film Festival.
