Catherine Ena "Cate" Holmes is a retired Australian jurist who served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland, the highest ranking court in the Australian state of Queensland. She was appointed to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2000, to the Queensland Court of Appeal in 2006 and appointed chief justice on 11 September 2015. She retired on 19 March 2022.

The District Court of Western Australia is the intermediate court in Western Australia. The District Court commenced in 1970, amid additional stress placed on the existing Magistrates Court and Supreme Court due to the increasing population of Western Australia. At its inception, the Court consisted of four judges: Sydney Howard Good, William Page Pidgeon, Desmond Charles Heenan and Robert Edmond Jones.

Brian Ross Martin is an Australian jurist. He was a judge of the Supreme Court of South Australia before being appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 2004. He served in the Northern Territory between 2004 and 2010. He served as an acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2012. In legal texts, he is referred to as "Martin (BR) CJ" to avoid confusion with his predecessor.

David Kingsley Malcolm, AC, QC was the Chief Justice of Western Australia from May 1988 until his retirement from the bench in February 2006. He was also an expatriate justice of the Supreme Court of Fiji.

Wayne Stewart Martin is a lawyer and former judge who served as Chief Justice of Western Australia from 2006 until 2018, and Lieutenant-Governor of Western Australia from 2009 to 2019.

The Chief Justice of Western Australia is the most senior judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the highest ranking judicial officer in the Australian state of Western Australia. The chief justice is both the judicial head of the Supreme Court as well as the administrative head. The chief justice is responsible for arranging the business of the court and establishing its rules and procedures.

Robert Shenton French is a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia and was Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia from 2008 to 2017. In 2017 French became an overseas non-permanent judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, and was appointed chancellor of the University of Western Australia.

Susan Coralie Kenny AM is a reserve judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria, a former Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, and before that was a Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria, where she was the first woman to serve on the Court of Appeal.

Mark Samuel Weinberg is a former judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria from July 2008 to May 2018. He is a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia who served from July 1998 to July 2008.

Corryn Veronica Ann Rayney, née Da Silva, migrated to Australia with her Indian family in 1973 as refugees from Idi Amin's Uganda. Her death occurred on or about 7 August 2007, her body being discovered a week later in a clandestine grave in Kings Park, Perth, with no clearly established cause of death. Her husband Lloyd Rayney, a prominent barrister specialising in criminal prosecution, was charged with her murder, but found not guilty after a trial before a judge only. The acquittal was unanimously upheld by a court of appeal in August 2013. The state's police commissioner and attorney general declined to acknowledge documented procedural mistakes, and refused to instigate a fresh search for the killers, leading to calls for a federal investigation into the matter.

James Joshua Edelman has been a justice of the High Court of Australia since 30 January 2017, and is a former justice of the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He is noted for his various achievements at a young age, including becoming a professor at Oxford University before the age of 35 and a justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia before the age of 40. He was 43 years old upon commencing his appointment on the High Court and is eligible to continue until reaching the constitutionally required retirement age of 70 in 2044.

Stephen Hall is an Australian jurist who is a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He was appointed to the general (trial) division of the court in 2009. In 2022, he was appointed as a permanent judge of the appeal division of the Court.

Lloyd Patrick Rayney is a former Western Australian barrister and Crown prosecutor who came to prominence when he was charged and acquitted in 2012 of the murder or manslaughter of his wife Corryn Rayney. In 2017, he succeeded in a defamation action against the State of Western Australia over police behaviour and was awarded a record sum of $A2.62 million. In a long-running action, the WA Legal Professional Complaints Committee and the State Administrative Tribunal had his practising certificate cancelled for "professional misconduct" and "knowingly giving false evidence".

John Leonard Clifton Wickham was a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Terry BuddinSC is presently Inspector of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission in the state of New South Wales, Australia. From 1995 to 1997, he was Director of Public Prosecutions of the Australian Capital Territory. On 30 January 2002, he was sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He retired from the Court on 16 March 2012. Since 2012 he is a professor at the University of Wollongong School of Law, where he has the title Judge-in-Residence. In 2013, he was appointed an acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia to hear the appeal of the acquittal of Lloyd Rayney. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney.
