There are a number of large swimming pools around the world, several of which are artificial lagoons. As of 2019, the Guinness World Record holder for the largest man-made lagoon is Citystars Sharm El Sheikh, located in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. [1]

Sharm El Sheikh, alternatively rendered Sharm el-Sheikh, Sharm el Sheikh, or Sharm El-Sheikh, is an Egyptian city on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai Governorate, on the coastal strip along the Red Sea. Epperson Lagoon is a man-made tourist attraction located in Wesley Chapel, Florida, consisting of a 7.5-acre (3.0 ha) man-made lake and beach featuring clean, clear, purified water, and known as the first crystalline lagoon in the United States. The lagoon features a beach, swim-up bar, water slide, climbing wall, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and an entertainment pavilion with a stadium-sized LED screen.
