This list is complementary to the List of pipeline accidents in the United States. Large accidents, qualifying as industrial disasters are included.

Contents

The production process encompasses all parts of the process from drilling for fuels to refining or processing to the final product. It also includes storage and disposal of waste. Unless otherwise stated, all accidents are associated with production wells.

Since many accidents involve transport of raw materials, several states included in this list have little or no fossil fuel production.

– Major crude oil train derailment in Mosier, a small town in the Columbia gorge spilled and burst into flames June 2016. The accident was due to railway dysfunction and bad parts. As of now, groundwater contamination is found at the site impacting wildlife.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGPL) is a set of natural gas pipelines that run from the Texas and Louisiana coast through Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to deliver natural gas in West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and New England. The 11,900-mile (19,200 km) long system is operated by the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan. It is one of the largest pipeline systems in the United States. Its FERC code is 9. TGP's PHMSA pipeline operator i.d. is 19160.
