The Latin Rhythm Airplay chart comprises singles and tracks from artists who represent the Hispanic rhythmic/Hurban genre, which includes Reggaeton, Hispanic R&B/Hip-Hop, Rhythmic Pop/Dance and crossovers from English-language and/or bilingual acts. This chart was introduced on the week of August 13, 2005 and came about as a result of radio stations tapping into the growing second and third generation Hispanic audience who wanted a Spanish-speaking or bilingual alternative to the formats that they felt would represent them. In its publication, the chart goes through a rotation and is posted every other week taking place of the Latin Tropical Airplay while the online database is posted every week. "Lo Que Pasó, Pasó" by Daddy Yankee was the first number-one song on the chart.
The Billboard Hot Latin Songs is a record chart in the United States for Latin songs, published weekly by Billboard magazine. Since October 2012, chart rankings are based on digital sales, radio airplay, and online streaming, and only predominantly Spanish language songs are allowed to rank. The chart was established by the magazine on September 6, 1986 and was originally based on airplay on Latin music radio stations. Songs on the chart were not necessarily in Spanish language, since a few songs in English and Portuguese language have also charted.

Causa y Efecto became a hit reaching number 1 in the U.S. Billboard Hot Latin Songs and Hot Latin Airplays. Causa y Efecto was produced by Cachorro López and written by Mario Domm and Mónica Vélez. "Causa y Efecto" is Rubio's first number one single in the Billboard Hot Latin Songs since Ni Una Sola Palabra in 2006. "Causa y Efecto" was awarded "Song of the year pop/ballad" by ASCAP.
"El Amor" is a song by Puerto Rican singer Tito El Bambino. It was composed by Tito and Joan Ortiz and released on February 9, 2009 as the second single from his third studio album, El Patrón (2009). The song blends the sounds of Latin pop with cumbia and merengue. A regional Mexican and a salsa version were recorded and included on the special edition of the album.
"Tal Vez" is a Latin pop song and the first single from Ricky Martin's Spanish language album, Almas del Silencio (2003). A Spanish language song, it was released as the lead single on March 17, 2003 in Latin territories.
