Mainly due to its proximity, easily accessible to most Singareni employees and strategic location Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is planning to move some of its offices from Kothagudem corporate headquarters to Ramagundam.But due to lobbying by Contractors in Singareni Colleries Office at Kothagudem the shifting process is getting delayed.Godavarikhani has 5 opencast coal projects,5 Underground Coal mines in which it has privileged Asia’s biggest mine Adriyala long-wall Projects(ALP) area of SCCL. Godavarikhani:Ramagundam records the highest temperature in Telangana every summer.

India is the third largest producer of electricity in the world. During the fiscal year (FY) 2022–23, the total electricity generation in the country was 1,844 TWh, of which 1,618 TWh was generated by utilities.

Ramagundam is a city under municipal corporation in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the most populous city in the district and falls under the Ramagundam revenue division. It is located on the banks of the Godavari River. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 229,644, making it the 6th most populous in the state, and an urban agglomeration population of 242,979. It is located about 225 km from the state capital Hyderabad.

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited or SCCL is a government-owned-coal mining corporation in India. It is under the ownership of Department of Energy, Government of Telangana. The Union Government's administration of the company is through the 49% ownership held by Ministry of Coal. SCCL is currently operating 45 mines where 20 opencast and 25 underground mines in 6 districts of Telangana with a manpower around 45,079 as of Nov. 2020. SCCL is contributing 9.2% in the all India Domestic Production. Since inception (1889) 1.36 BT of Coal is extracted by SCCL and it has proved reserves of 10.84 BT.

NTPC Ramagundam, a part of National Thermal Power Corporation, is a 2,600 megawatt (MW) Super thermal power station situated at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district in Telangana, India. It is the current largest power station in South India. It is the first ISO 14001 certified "Super Thermal Power Station" in India.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station</span>

Singrauli Super Thermal Power Plant is located at Shaktinagar in Sonebhadra district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is the first power plant of NTPC. It sources coal from Jayant and Bina mines and water from Rihand Reservoir. The states benefitting from this power plant are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territories of Delhi, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir. An investment worth 11,907 million (US$150 million) has already been cleared. It even gets international assistance from IDA.

NTPC Limited, formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation, is an Indian central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the ownership of the Ministry of Power and the Government of India, who is engaged in the generation of electricity and other activities. The headquarters of the PSU are situated at New Delhi. NTPC's core function is the generation and distribution of electricity to State Electricity Boards in India. The body also undertakes consultancy and turnkey project contracts that involve engineering, project management, construction management, and operation and management of power plants.

Sripada Yellampalli Project is an Irrigation project located at Yellampalli Village of Ramagundam rural Mandal, between Peddapalli district - Mancherial District of Telangana State, India. The project is fourth largest on the Godavari River in Telangana State. It is named after late legislator, D. Sripada Rao.

Barh Super Thermal Power Station or NTPC Barh is located in Barh in the Indian state of Bihar. NTPC Barh is located barely four kilometres (2.5 mi) east of the Barh sub-division on National Highway-31 in Patna district. The project has been named a mega power project, and is owned by Indian energy company National Thermal Power Corporation.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Barauni Thermal Power Station</span> Building in India

NTPC, Barauni Or Barauni Thermal Power Station is an existing 720 megawatt coal-fired power station earlier owned by Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB)and currently by NTPC Limited. The power station is located at Barauni in Begusarai district, Bihar, India. Barauni thermal power station in Bihar came into existence in association with the Russian collaboration and came into operation in the year 1962. Bihar Government was mulling over the idea to hand over Barauni Thermal Power Station to NTPC Limited. On 17 April 2018, Bihar state cabinet, headed by chief minister Nitish Kumar, gave its nod to handing over of Barauni Thermal Power Station to National Thermal Power Corporation. On 15 May 2018, Bihar Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to hand over the thermal plant to National Thermal Power Corporation for a 33- years lease. East Central Railway will provide uninterrupted supply of coal to thermal power station. NTPC completed the acquisition of 720 MW Barauni thermal power plant with effect from 15 December 2018. The units of Barauni power station will be progressively put under commercial operation.

Power sector of Andhra Pradesh is divided into 4 categories namely Regulation, Generation, Transmission and Distribution. Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) is the regulatory body. APGENCO deals with the electricity production and also maintenance, proposes new projects and upgrades existing ones as well. The APGENCO also set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), named as Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Limited (APPDCL), a joint venture company of APGENCO and IL&FS to set up Krishnapatanam thermal power project.

Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Station is a coal based thermal power project located at near by Gangai village in Gadarwara Tehsil in Narsinghpur District in Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC Limited. are the critical equipment supplier.

Bhadradri Thermal Power Station is a proposed power plant project located near Edulla Bayyaram at Manuguru in the Indian state of Telangana.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Telangana Super Thermal Power Project</span>

Telangana Super Thermal Power Project(TSTPP) is in Telangana, India. The power plant is under construction with power capacity of 1600 MW (2x800 MW) in first phase and in total planned capacity of 4000 MW. It is the coal based power plant of National Thermal Power Corporation. It is being built near Ramagundam city in Peddapalli District. The first Unit, 800MW, was inaugurated by PM Modi on 3 October 2023.The second unit was inaugurated by PM Modi on 4 March 2024.

The Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) is a coal-fired power station in Pegadapalli, a village in Jaipur mandal in Mancherial district of Telangana, India. The power plant has an installed capacity of 1200 MW, consisting of two 600 MW units, and is operated by the Singareni Collieries Company.

Pedapalli district is a district located in the northern region of the Indian state of Telangana. Its administrative headquarters is at Peddapalli and Commissionerate is at Ramagundam. The district shares boundaries with Mancherial, Karimnagar, Jagtial and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts. This district covers Ramagundam city which is situated in the Godavari valley coalfields and has one of the India's largest thermal power stations in south region under NTPC. Mostly industries are connected with Godavarikhani - NTPC - Ramagundam.
