Kranjska Gora is a town in northwestern Slovenia, on the Sava Dolinka River in the Upper Carniola region, close to the Austrian and Italian borders. It is the seat of the Municipality of Kranjska Gora. The tripoint between Austria, Italy and Slovenia lies on the mountain of Dreiländereck, known as Peč in Slovenia.
Pohorje, also known as the Pohorje Massif or the Pohorje Mountains, is a mostly wooded, medium-high mountain range south of the Drava River in northeastern Slovenia. According to the traditional AVE classification it belongs to the Southern Limestone Alps. Geologically, it forms part of the Central Alps and features silicate metamorphic and igneous rock. Pohorje is sparsely populated with dispersed villages. There are also some ski resorts.
Rogla Ski Resort is a Slovenian ski resort opened in 1975 at Rogla, Zreče, located at the top of the Zreče Pohorje range and regularly the most or second most visited Slovenian ski resort, with over 200,000 skiers per season and capacity of 13,500/h. It is the seventh-largest Slovenian ski resort by ski area, with a total 13.5 km (8.4 mi) of ski slopes and 24 km (15 mi) of cross-country tracks.
Cerkno Ski Resort is the Slovenian most modern ski resort on Črni Vrh nad Novaki hill near Davča opened in 1984. It is located 10 km away from centre of municipality Cerkno.
Kranjska Gora Ski Resort is Slovenia's oldest ski resort at Kranjska Gora, Upper Carniola, opened in 1948. It is divided into five different sections under the Vitranc Mountain, stretched throughout the whole valley of the same name municipality: Mojstrana, Kranjska Gora, Planica, Podkoren 1, and Podkoren 2. It has a total of 20 km of ski slopes, 40 km tracks for cross-country skiing, and Snow Fun Park.
The Krvavec Ski Resort is the second-largest Slovenian ski resort, located in the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps. The nearest city is Kranj and it is 25 km from Ljubljana. The resort is located 10 km from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport and it is the nearest ski resort to an international airport in Europe. It has a total 30 km of ski slopes.
Kope–Ribnica Pohorje Ski Resort is a joined Slovenian ski resort located in western part of Pohorje mountain in municipality of Slovenj Gradec and Ribnica na Pohorju.
Maribor Pohorje Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, located just south of Maribor, at the mountain range of Pohorje in Lower Styria.
The Municipality of Šentjur, named Municipality of Šentjur pri Celju until 2002, is a municipality in eastern Slovenia. The town of Šentjur is the seat of the municipality. With an area of 223 square kilometers (86 sq mi) it is one of the larger municipalities in Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. Saint George appears on the municipal coat of arms.

The Slovenian Mountain Hiking Trail, sometimes also called Transverzala, is a route from Maribor to Ankaran. It covers most of the Slovenian mountain areas including Pohorje, the Julian Alps, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, the Karawanks, and the southwestern part of Slovenia. It is the oldest hiking track in Europe.
The Ribnica Lodge is the highest mountain lodge in the Pohorje Mountains. It lies on a small plateau below Little Black Peak in the central area of the Pohorje Hills. The lodge is open all year round. It is accessible by car from Ribnica na Pohorju. There is also a small ski resort with three surface lifts.
The Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica is a municipality in the traditional region of Styria in northeastern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Slovenska Bistrica. Slovenska Bistrica became a municipality in 1994.
The Municipality of Zreče is a municipality below the slopes of Pohorje in northeastern Slovenia. Its seat is the town of Zreče. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.
Tornik ski resort or Tornik ski center, is a mountain resort and one of the largest centers of winter tourism in Serbia, operated by public company "Skijališta Srbije". Located on the slopes of Zlatibor Mountain, it is mainly a destination for skiing. In the nearby town of Zlatibor, there are several hotels and hostels, cafes, bars and night clubs.
Stara Planina ski resort or Stara Planina ski center is a mountain resort and one of the largest centers of winter tourism in Serbia, operated by public company "Skijališta Srbije". Located on the slopes of Stara Planina, it is mainly a destination for skiing.
Podkoren 3 is a black World Cup technical ski course on Vitranc mountain in Podkoren, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, opened in 1983. It was constructed by Peter Lakota, a successful Slovenian skier.
Miranova proga A is a women's World Cup technical ski course in Slovenia, on Pohorje mountain in Radvanje District, Maribor hostin Golden Fox competition since 1978.
2nd Vitranc Cup was an alpine skiing competition, held between 2–3 March 1963 in Kranjska Gora, SR Slovenia, Yugoslavia. They were hosting two FIS 1A international events.
