Lorna Woodroffe (born 18 August 1976) is an English former tennis player.

She competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Playing with Julie Pullin, she lost her first-round match in the women's doubles to Kristie Boogert and Miriam Oremans of the Netherlands, in two sets. [1]

Post-retirement life

After retiring from professional tennis, Woodroffe was one of the founders of WimX Tennis, a tennis academy and coaching business. As of 2021, she is still coaching there. [2] [3]

Pamela Howard Shriver is an American former professional tennis player and current tennis broadcaster, pundit, and coach. During the 1980s and 1990s, Shriver won 133 WTA Tour–level titles, including 21 singles titles, 111 women's doubles titles, and one mixed doubles title. This includes 22 major titles, 21 in women's doubles and one in mixed doubles. Shriver also won an Olympic gold medal in women's doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, partnering with Zina Garrison. Shriver and regular doubles partner Martina Navratilova are the only women's pair to complete the Grand Slam in a calendar year, winning all four majors in 1984. She was ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles, and world No. 1 in doubles.

Jing Junhong, also stylized as Jing Jun Hong, is a Chinese-born Singaporean former professional table tennis player. Born in Shanghai, she was a highly ranked player in China before she moved to Singapore with her husband, Singaporean table tennis player Loy Soo Han, whom she married in 1992. She represented Singapore in sporting events starting in the 1990s, and was naturalized as a Singaporean citizen in 1994. After retiring as a player, she served as deputy head coach, then as head coach, of the women's national table tennis team, before being reassigned to leading the country's table tennis youth development program in late 2015.

Alina Vladimirovna Jidkova is a former professional tennis player from Russia. In her career, she won one WTA doubles title, at the 2005 Mexican Open, and reached the finals three other times, at the 2003 Memphis Open, Québec 2006 and 2007 Cincinnati Open. She also won nine singles and nine doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. In March 2005, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 51, while in August 2003, she peaked at No. 50 in the doubles rankings.

Mariaan de Swardt is a former professional tennis player from South Africa, who was active from 1988 to 2001. The 1997 Welsh International Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts in Cardiff in Wales that was part of Tier IV of the 1997 WTA Tour. The tournament was held from May 13 through May 18, 1997.

Naomi Osaka is a Japanese professional tennis player. She has been ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and is the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles. Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, with two Australian Open and two US Open titles. Her seven titles on the WTA Tour include two at the Premier Mandatory level. Players and pairs who neither have high enough rankings nor receive wild cards may participate in a qualifying tournament held one week before the annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

Laurence Courtois and Nancy Feber defeated Hiroko Mochizuki and Yuka Yoshida in the final, 6–3, 6–4 to win the girls' doubles tennis title at the 1993 Wimbledon Championships.

Zheng Qinwen is a Chinese professional tennis player. She won the gold medal in women's singles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, becoming the first Asian tennis player, male or female, to win an Olympic gold in singles. She reached a career-high WTA ranking of No. 7 on 29 January 2024, becoming the second Chinese player to reach the top 10 after Li Na.
