Love's Bus Service is an Australian school bus service, operating in Cairns. It will soon begin a slow transition into Sunbus.
Love's Bus Service was established in 1975 when the business of Cooper, Benger was acquired. [1] [2] Love's operated the Bunbury urban services until it was put out to tender, and passed to South West Coach Lines. [3]
By 2002, Love's had an operation in Kerang, Victoria. [4] In 2002, Love's commenced operating in Queensland, purchasing the Cairns based school services of Stagecoach. [4] [5]
In July 2013, Love's commenced operating the TransAlbany network under contract to the Public Transport Authority. [6] Upon being re-tendered, the TransAlbany services were taken over by Swan Transit in July 2017 with 17 buses. [7] [8] [9] The Cairns business was sold to the Kinetic Group in January 2020 but is still operating under the Love's Bus Service name. [10] [11] This is a separate operation to Sunbus Cairns which is also owned by the Kinetic Group. The Love's brand will be replaced by the Sunbus brand in early 2022. [12]
As at July 2012 the fleet consisted of 92 buses (Albany 46), [13] Bunbury (11) [14] and Cairns (35). [15]
