"LoveWave" is a song by Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan. Premiered on March 2, 2016, it was released as a single on March 30, 2016. It represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. "LoveWave" was written by Mukuchyan, Stephanie Crutchfield, Lilith Navasardyan and Levon Navasardyan. To promote the song, an accompanying music video was released and co-stars Mukuchyan and Swedish model Ben Dahlhaus.

I wanted to sing about a feeling we all know and crave for. A feeling that creates and destroys, empowers and weakens, rips and completes. A feeling out of space and time, that is unpredictable as an ocean and powerful as a wave. A feeling that is worth fighting for. Love.

On October 13, 2015, the Public Television of Armenia announced Mukuchyan as the Armenian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. [2] On the same day, they also announced an open contest for songwriters from all over the world. [2] On December 31, 2015, the official YouTube channel of Eurovision uploaded a video, where Mukuchyan said: "We received songs from Canada, the United States, Sweden, Armenia, Germany - almost everywhere. We had amazing songs and it was really hard to decide which one to choose. I want to thank all the composers and producers." [3] In the video she also revealed that they have chosen the song, stating: "The one we chose touched me deep inside my heart. I didn't even know that a song could touch me like that." [3]

On February 19, 2016, the song's title and the release date were announced. [4] The lyrics of "LoveWave" is written by Mukuchyan and Stephanie Crutchfield, while it was composed by Lilith Navasardyan and Levon Navasardyan. [4] On March 2, 2016, the song was premiered by the Public Television of Armenia, and was uploaded to Eurovision's YouTube channel. [1] On March 30, 2016, the song was released for digital download on iTunes as a single. [5] An official remix of "LoveWave" by Rhannes premiered on May 4, 2016. [6]

Music video

The music video for "LoveWave" was separately shot in Germany and Armenia, and features Mukuchyan and Swedish model Ben Dahlhaus, who lives in Germany and is known for his work with famous fashion brands. [1] It is the production of the Public Television of Armenia and Germany's Black Sheep communications. [1] On February 19, 2016, an 18-second teaser of the video was uploaded to Mukuchyan's YouTube channel. [4] The video for "LoveWave" premiered on March 2, 2016. [1] On March 25, 2016, an official lyric video of the song was uploaded to Mukuchyan's YouTube channel. [7]

Eurovision Song Contest

On 25 January 2016, a special allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, as well as which half of the show they would perform in. Armenia was placed into the first semi-final, to be held on 10 May 2016, and was scheduled to perform in the first half of the show. [8] Mukuchyan performed "LoveWave" in position 7, following the entry from the Netherlands and before the entry from San Marino. [9] The song qualified from the first semi-final and competed in the final on May 14, 2016, where she performed the song last in position 26, following the entry from United Kingdom. Iveta Mukuchyan is an Armenian singer. Born in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, she moved to Hamburg, Germany, in 1992. Mukuchyan returned to Armenia in 2009 and placed fifth in the fourth season of the talent competition Hay Superstar. During this time, she received vocal training at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. Mukuchyan also participated for season two of The Voice of Germany in 2012.

Avet Barseghyan is an Armenian songwriter and TV host, who hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Yerevan, Armenia, alongside Gohar Gasparyan.

Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Fly with Me" written by Lilith Navasardyan, Levon Navasardyan, Avet Barseghyan and David Tserunyan. The song was performed by Artsvik, who was selected through the national final Depi Evratesil organised by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) to represent Armenia in the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The national final involved 75 contestants and took place over three months. Two contestants ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 24 December 2016 where a jury panel and a public televote selected Artsvik as the winner. The song "Fly with Me" was selected internally and later presented to the public on 18 March 2017.

"Hayastan Jan" is a song by Armenian-German singer-songwriter Iveta Mukuchyan. It was released as a single on August 11, 2017, however the music video was released earlier. "Hayastan Jan" was written by Armenian songwriter and TV host Avet Barseghyan and composed by Mukuchyan. On 23 September 2017, Armenia 1 launched a new game show of the same name. Hosted by the songwriter of the track, it had "Hayastan Jan" as its theme music. The song became popular among Armenian diaspora, especially in Lebanon, where it topped the top 10 list of Radio Sevan. On 27 September 2018, the song won a "Song of the Year" award during the ceremony of the same name in Sochi, Russia.

"Dashterov" is a song by Armenian musicians Aram Mp3 and Iveta Mukuchyan. The song premiered on February 11, 2017. The same day the singers sang the song at Dalma Garden Mall. The song is written by another Armenian musician Avet Barseghyan. Arrangements were made by Armenian DJ Serjo. Mukuchyan first talked about her collaboration in London during her interview with Wiwibloggs. The track sees the duo sing about chasing love across fields, valleys, mountains and canyons. The song preceded a collaborative project of the same name.

Srbuk's selection as the Armenian artist was announced on 30 November 2018, while the song "Walking Out" was later presented to the public on 10 March 2019.

Srbuhi Sargsyan, professionally known as Srbuk, is an Armenian singer. She first came to prominence after competing in season one of the Armenian version of The X Factor, where she placed as the runner-up. In 2018, she competed in season eight of The Voice of Ukraine, placing fourth. Srbuk represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, with the song "Walking Out".

Armenia originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Chains on You" written by Athena Manoukian and DJ Paco. The song was performed by Athena Manoukian. The Armenian entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands was selected through the national final Depi Evratesil 2020, organised by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV). The national final took place on 15 February 2020 where twelve entries competed. "Chains on You" performed by Athena Manoukian was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from an international jury, an Armenian jury and a public televote.
