Lynco is an unincorporated community in Wyoming County, West Virginia, United States.

Lynco is the home to one of the most influential high school football players within Wyoming county. Oceana in 1991 had just dropped one of the most iconic coaches to ever coach, and run the single wing. The next coach was a run and gun kind of guy, and totally overhauled the football program that Oceana had been accustomed to for years. Enter Tom Evans and Joe Preece.This dynamic duo shook up, what was a very predictable offense, and made it something exciting again. The papers, and sports writers was flocking to Oceana to get exclusive with the coaches and players. They would be titles in the newspapers like "not your ordinary Joe" Joe Preece from Lynco and Thomas Evans from Oceana busted out and made records for their offensive numbers that they was racking up. While both made all conference honors these two young men was basically the bread and butter of the team. So there you have it. Joe Preece a Lynco boy who went on to really represent his community (Lynco) in a great way. On behalf of the community, we want to say THANK YOU JOE!

Joseph Cassidy Glenn is a former American football coach and former player. He was the head football coach at the University of South Dakota, his alma mater, from 2012 to 2015. He was named head coach on December 5, 2011 after the school's athletic director, David Sayler, fired Ed Meierkort. Glenn served as the head football coach at Doane College (1976–1979), the University of Northern Colorado (1989–1999), the University of Montana (2000–2002), and the University of Wyoming (2003–2008). The 2012 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Longhorns were led by 15th-year head coach Mack Brown and played their home games at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. They were a member of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 9–4, 5–4 in Big 12 play to finish in a tie for third place. They were invited to the Alamo Bowl where they defeated Oregon State.
