The word diploma also refers to an academic award which is given after the completion of study in different courses such as diploma in higher education, diploma in graduation or diploma in post-graduation. Historically, it can also refer to a charter or official document, thus diplomatic, diplomat and diplomacy via the Codex Juris Gentium Diplomaticus.

Stanton College Preparatory School is an academically renowned public high school in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. The school's history dates to the 1860s when it was begun as an elementary school serving the African-American population under the then-segregated education system. It now serves secondary students within the Duval County Public Schools of Duval County, Florida. The school offers special curricula which include Honors courses, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate courses. In 2005, the Advanced Placement Report to the Nation officially recognized Stanton College Preparatory School as the best large size high school for Advanced Placement European History and Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition in the world.
Hillcrest High School is a four-year public high school in Ammon, Idaho, east of Idaho Falls. Opened in 1992, it was the second high school in the Bonneville School District. The school mascot is the Knight and the colors are red, black, and white. Hillcrest competed in IHSAA Class 5A for athletics until 2018, and now completes in 4A. The principal is Scott Miller.

Wells High School is a public school located in Wells, Maine, United States. It has an enrollment of 450 students in grades 9 through 12. Bendale Business and Technical Institute, formerly Bendale Secondary School and Bendale Vocational School is a defunct specialized technical public high school located in Bendale, a neighbourhood in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada owned by the Scarborough Board of Education, that succeeded its operations into the present Toronto District School Board prior to merger. Existed from 1963 until its closure in 2019, it was the first vocational school that served in the former City of Scarborough in which the school tailored for students with life skills or pursue career in the industry. The school's motto was Flourish Through Industry.
New Toronto Secondary School, formerly known as Long Branch Continuation School and New Toronto Vocational School existed from 1926 until 1983 in the old town of New Toronto, Etobicoke. This school was operated by the New Toronto Board of Education, which was then merged into the Etobicoke Board of Education and the Toronto District School Board.
