Campus

Circa the 2010s a new lighting system was implemented that was intended to reduce costs; it had 7,000 lights total. The system relied on software for management purposes. However the software stopped working on August 24, 2021, and after that date, the school administration was unable to turn off the lighting system. Corky Siemaszko of NBC News wrote in 2023 that this was "costing taxpayers a small fortune." [6] The lights staying on in the event of a failure was intended to maintain security at Minnechaug Regional. [7]
