Madeiral or Monte Madeiral is a mountain in the southeastern part of the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. Its elevation is 680 meters. [1] The village Madeiral, part of the settlement Ribeira de Calhau, lies at its northern foot.

Ribeira de Calhau is a settlement in the eastern part of the island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde. It takes its name from the river Ribeira do Calhau, and comprises the villages of Madeiral, Ribeira de Calhau and Calhau. Madeiral and Ribeira de Calhau are located in the river valley, Calhau is on the east coast. In 2010 its population was 1,177. The valley is surrounded by the mountains Viana, Madeiral, Pico do Vento and Monte Verde.

Football is the most popular sport in Cape Verde. The league is divided into eleven divisions, of which seven of them are singles and two islands, Santiago and Santo Antão has two zones since 2000. The football association is a federation which is known as the Cape Verdean Football Federation, it became affiliated with CAF in 1986 and later with FIFA in 2001.

The São Vicente Super Cup is a regional SuperCup competition played during the season in São Vicente Island, Cape Verde. The super cup competition is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. Its current champions is FC Derby who won their second title The regional champion competes with the cup champion. The 2015 edition was held, as Mindelense won both the regional and cup titles, the regional winner competed with a runner up in the regional cup.

Vicente Gandía was a Mexican artist of Spanish origin who is best known for his depictions of nature and buildings. He originally trained to be an architect but abandoned this in favor of art, but with his art career beginning by drawing interiors. His major break came in 1968, with international expose which led to greater demand for his work. Recognitions for his art include membership in the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana, two awards from the same institution, a homage to the artist sponsored by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia while still alive and two others after his death, one with the Festival Internacional Cervantino.

The São Vicente Island Cup is cup competition played during the season in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde, it consists of all the clubs from all the two regional divisions and are divided into about five to six rounds. The cup tournament is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association .The cup winner competed in the regional super cup final in the following season. For several seasons, the winner qualified into Cape Verdean Cup which has been cancelled due to financial and scheduling reasons.
