Magnus (born February 17, 1993) is a Mexican reality TV personality and luchador enmascarado , or masked professional wrestler, currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a tecnico ("good guy") wrestling character. Magnus's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico when their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Personal life

Magnus is the son of the CMLL trainer and booking team member Tony Salazar and the nephew of Miguel Urive who worked under the ring name "Dr. Karonte". Magnus is the cousin of the original Místico (the original Sin Cara in WWE) as well as the cousin of the wrestlers Argenis, Argos, Astro Boy, Dr. Karonte, Jr. and an unidentified member of Los Mini Psycho Circus. Professional wrestling career

Magnus briefly wrestled for Toryumon Mexico as "Astro Boy", a ring name used by three of his older cousins before him.

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (2011)

Magnus started his CMLL career as a member of the informal Generación 2011 stable, which also included the newcomers Bobby Zavala, Enrique Vera Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Dragon Lee, Hijo del Signo and Super Halcón Jr. [5] During the press conference, Magnus wore a mask with an open mouth and only a passing resemblance to the mask that CMLL's top tecnico Místico had worn. His mask was redesigned for his first match and the color scheme was changed to be primarily silver, closely resembling the outfits that Místico wore before leaving CMLL, leading people to comment that CMLL was trying to recreate the character with Magnus. [6] [7] CMLL held a Forjando un Ídolo (Spanish for "Forging an idol") tournament in April and May 2011, with the purpose of identifying which of the 16 newcomers in the tournament would move up the ranks of the promotion. The tournament consisted of two rounds, beginning with a round-robin group round, with the top two in each of the four groups competing in an elimination tournament. Magnus defeated Ángel de Plata but lost to both Pólvora and Fuego, leaving him with only three points, not enough to advance to the next round. [8] Magnus entered the 2011 Torneo Gran Alternativa tournament, a tag team tournament that sees a rookie team up with an experienced wrestler for a tournament. Escorpión was randomly teamed up with Brazo de Plata and lost in the first round to Rey Escorpión and Último Guerrero [9]

El Luchador and independent circuit (2011–2012)

Magnus was one of the featured characters on the CMLL produced reality television show El Luchador ("the Wrestler"), shown on A&E Latinoamericano in both season one and season two. [10] In season one, Magnus was portrayed as a young luchador hopeful, who let his own arrogance stand in the way of his potential. During the final episode, CMLL revealed that Magnus was the son of Tony Salazar and Magnus was suspended from CMLL because of his antics. While the show was portrayed as being "real", parts of the storyline with Magnus were most likely fictional. Magnus injured himself during the filming of the show, which meant that he disappeared from the ring for a couple of months to recuperate. When he resurfaced, he did not work on any CMLL-promoted shows, only working on the Mexican independent circuit on shows that also included CMLL luchadors such as the Toryumon Mexico shows in Mexico City. While competing at Toryumon, he won the XV Torneo Copa Dragon by defeating Tauro in the final. He also lost a number one contendership scramble match for the NWA International Junior Heavyweight Championship. In his absence, CMLL gave the actual "Místico" name, mask and outfit to another wrestler, Dragon Lee, who then became Místico La Nueva Era. [11] During the promotion of the second season, it was mentioned that Magnus had challenged Dragon Lee to a Lucha de Apuesta , Mask vs. Mask, playing off the story that the two were friends in season one, before Dragon Lee took over the "Místico" character. Return to CMLL (2012–present)

Magnus returned to CMLL in October 2012, coinciding with the first of season 2 of El Luchador. Magnus acknowledged that his attitude had led to him being put out of CMLL and was grateful for the second chance he was given. [13] On his return, he teamed up with fellow Generacion 2011 workers Hombre Bala Jr. and Super Halcón Jr. to defeat the team of Apocalipsis, Inquisidor and Zayco. [14] Magnus unveiled a new look that no longer resembled the Místico but instead had the color scheme and general look of Místico's WWE look as Sin Cara. [15] [16]

The tournament has always been held in Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, the main arena of CMLL.

He is the son of Super Parka, and his ring name refers to his father's previous gimmick, Volador. Ibarra is the nephew of the original La Parka, the cousin of El Hijo de L.A. Anselmo Rivas Castro is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, who currently works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) under the name Dragón Rojo Jr.. He has previously worked under the ring names Zaracatán Jr. and Diamante Negro but has achieved the majority of his success as Dragón Rojo Jr. He is a two-time CMLL World Middleweight Champion, and he currently holds the record for most days as Middleweight Champion. Dragón Rojo Jr. along with Último Guerrero are the longest reigning CMLL World Tag Team Champions in the history of the championship.

Forjando un Ídolo was a professional wrestling tournament held by Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in 2011 with the purpose of identifying which of the 16 "Rookies" in the tournament would move up the ranks of the promotion. The tournament consisted of two rounds, first a round robin group round, with the top 2 in each of the four groups competing in an elimination tournament. Wrestlers would earn points based on match results and points from a weekly online poll. The tournament ran from April 11 until May 20, 2012 and saw Ángel de Oro win the tournament. The top two from each group would team up with their mentor for a trios tournament called Forjando un Ídolo: La Guerra Continúa, won by Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr. and Delta.

Luis Meza Casas (born February 14, 1992), better known by the ring name Diamante, is a Mexican professional wrestler and former enmascarado predominantly working for Dragongate under the ring name Luis Mante. Until October 2016 he was known as Hombre Bala Jr., Spanish for "Human Cannonball Junior", reflecting the fact that one of his father's most known ring names was "Hombre Bala". Marco Antonio Sánchez Rodríguez better known by his ring name El Hijo del Signo or Signo Jr., is a Mexican professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a rudo wrestling character. Hijo del Signo's real name was not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico, where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans, until he lost the mask on December 25, 2017, to Starman. His ring name is Spanish for "Son of the Sign", based on the ring name of his father El Signo.

The Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) has traditionally held an annual Reyes del Aire tournament since 2005. There was no tournament in 2010 and both 2007 and 2012 saw two Reyes del Aire tournaments. The tournament includes a varying number of wrestlers, competing in a Torneo cibernetico match, essentially a multi-man elimination match with the last competitor remaining is declared that year's Rey del Aire and is given a trophy. CMLL holds a similar tournament for their Mini-Estrella division called Pequeños Reyes del Aire. The CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles 2013 or "National Incredible Pairs Tournament 2013" was the fourth of a series of Lucha Libre tournaments for Tag Teams traditionally held early in the year. The tournament was based on the Lucha Libre Parejas Increíbles match type where two wrestlers of opposite allegiance, portraying either villains, referred to as "Rudos" in Lucha Libre wrestling terminology or fan favorites, or "tecnicos". At times some of the team members were part of a pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines with each other. The tournament was won by the team of La Sombra and Volador Jr.

<i>En Busca de un Ídolo</i> 2012 2012 Mexican professional wrestling tournament

The 2012 En Busca de un Ídolo was a professional wrestling tournament held by Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and was the first tournament in what would become an annual tournament in CMLL. The purpose of the first tournament was to identify which of the 8 "Rookies" in the tournament would move up the ranks of the promotion. The tournament consisted of two rounds, first a round-robin tournament group round, with the top four point earners competing in an elimination tournament. Wrestlers could earn points in three ways, match results, judges points and points from an online poll available on the 'En Busca de un Ídolo website. The tournament ran from April 27 until May 25, 2012 and saw Titán win the tournament, partially due to a high number of fan votes.
