Persephone (born August 3, 2001) is the ring name of a Mexican-American professional wrestler working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where she portrays a ruda ("bad girl") wrestling character. She has also wrestled as Perse and Black Widow. Initially performing under a mask, she voluntarily removed her mask in 2023, which is unusual for Mexican wrestlers who typically only unmask after losing it in a match. [1] [2]

Career

Persephone was raised in El Paso, Texas, and has been wrestling since August 2016. She wrestled in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) before jumping to the rival Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion in 2023. [3]

In CMLL, Persephone notably has had a feud with Tessa Blanchard and generally portrays a rudo, an evil character, as opposed to the tecnicos who are the good guys. [4] [5] Surprisingly, she won the 2024 Campeonato de Amazonas (the title for the best female wrestler in CMLL) after defeating veteran Zeuxis in the finals on October 18, 2024. [6]

On July 11, 2025, Persephone made her Ring of Honor (ROH) debut by competing in a Worldwide Women's Wild Card four-way match for the interim ROH Women's World Television Championship at Supercard of Honor, which was won by Mina Shirakawa. [7]

Personal life

Persephone holds dual American and Mexican citizenship. In addition to wrestling, Persephone also holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. [3] She is currently in a relationship with fellow Mexican wrestler Villano III Jr. [8]
