Rugido (Spanish for roar; born February 26, 1991) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is currently working with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where he is the one-half of current Mexican National Tag Team Champions alongside Magnus. He previously worked as Dizzy and La Parka Negra. His real name is not a matter of public record as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico. [1]

Career

On the September 15, 2021 episode of Informa, Rugido was introduced as part of the stable Los Depredadores. [2] In May 2023, he entered the Mexican National Middleweight Championship Tournament, where he lost to Guerrero Maya Jr. in a tournament final. [3] [4] On July 9, Rugido and Magnus won the Mexican National Tag Team Championship. [5]

He has previously worked under the ring names Zaracatán Jr. and Diamante Negro but has achieved the majority of his success as Dragón Rojo Jr. He is a two-time CMLL World Middleweight Champion, and he currently holds the record for most days as Middleweight Champion. Dragón Rojo Jr. along with Último Guerrero are the longest reigning CMLL World Tag Team Champions in the history of the championship.

DMT Azul is the best known ring name of a Mexican Luchador Enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Azul is best known for his time in Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He originally wrestled under the ring name El Romano but in 2009 he was given a new name and mask, Metro, a ring name that had been used by at least three other CMLL wrestlers before 2009. The "Metro" ring character was sponsored by the Mexico City Metro newspaper, incorporating the newspapers logo and color scheme in the mask and wrestling trunks. In early 2012 he was given a new image and ring name, dropping the sponsored ring name to become Diamante Azul instead. Diamante Azul is Spanish for "Blue Diamond".

The group is rounded out by Mr. Niebla and rookies Bárbaro Cavernario and Herodes, Jr. The group was founded in July 2008 when Mr. Niebla returned to CMLL after working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The CMLL Universal Championship (2017) was a professional wrestling tournament produced and scripted by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The tournament started on June 30, 2017 and ran for three Super Viernes shows with the finals taking place on July 14, 2017 at Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The CMLL Universal Championship is an annual tournament exclusively for wrestlers who hold a CMLL-recognized championship at the time of the tournament. The tournament was first held in 2009, making the 2017 version the ninth overall tournament. Being a professional wrestling tournament, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via predetermined outcomes to the matches that is kept secret from the general public.

The show was produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and took place at Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The special edition of CMLL's Super Viernes show honored CMLL wrestler Negro Casas for reaching his 40th anniversary as a professional wrestler.
