A commander-in-chief or supreme commander is the person who exercises supreme command and control over an armed force or a military branch. As a technical term,it refers to military competencies that reside in a country's executive leadership,a head of state,head of government,or other designated government official.
The United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth,Kansas,is a graduate school for United States Army and sister service officers,interagency representatives,and international military officers. The college was established in 1881 by William Tecumseh Sherman as the School of Application for Infantry and Cavalry,a training school for infantry and cavalry officers. In 1907 it changed its title to the School of the Line. A member of the People’s National Congress (PNC),he previously served as Commander of the Guyana Defence Force and as National Security Adviser from 1990 to 1992. He was leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Guyana from 2012 to 2015.
