Stevens County is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington along the Canada–US border. As of the 2014 United States Census, its population was 43,650. As of July 2016, the population was estimated to be 44,439. The county seat and largest city is Colville. The county was created in 1863 and named after Isaac Stevens, the first governor of Washington Territory.

Washington, officially the State of Washington, is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It was admitted to the Union as the 42nd state in 1889. Olympia is the state capital; the state's largest city is Seattle. History

A post office called Maud was established in 1904, and remained in operation until 1914. [2] The community was named after Maud Morgan, the child of an early settler. [3]
