Megadromus is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are at least 30 described species in Megadromus, found in New Zealand. [1] [2]
These 30 species belong to the genus Megadromus:
Anthia is a genus of the ground beetle family (Carabidae). Species of Anthia can spray a jet of formic acid up to 30 centimetres (12 in), which, if not treated, can cause blindness in animals that harass the beetles.
Carabus is a genus of beetles in family Carabidae. The genus is highly diverse with 94 subgenera, 959 species and 2300 subspecies, thus is the largest genus in the subfamily Carabinae. The vast majority are native to the Palearctic, but 16 Nearctic species are also known. Carabus spp. are 12–50 mm (0.47–1.97 in) long, and most species are wingless and often very colourful. These are nocturnal, predatory beetles that feed on snails, earthworms, and caterpillars. Most Carabus species were thought to have inhabited the Eurasian forest, but the species' low dispersal abilities altered the distribution of lineages within the genus.
Xylotoles is a genus of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It contains several species, including Xylotoles costatus, once thought extinct. The longhorn beetles belonging to genus Xylotoles is classified as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List.
Agonum is a large genus of ground beetles in the subfamily Harpalinae, tribe Platynini. They are mid-sized to smallish beetles, typically with dark metallic hues – often reddish or bronze, but sometimes black, green etc.
Notiobia is a genus of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. There are about 100 described species in Notiobia.
Anaulacus is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 30 described species in Anaulacus.
Demetrida is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 100 described species in Demetrida.
Scopodes is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae and is found in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The genus contains the following species:
Ctenognathus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae. This genus is endemic to New Zealand. It was first described by Léon Fairmaire in 1843.
Holcaspis is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, endemic to New Zealand.
Neoferonia is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Notonomus is a genus of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. There are more than 120 described species in Notonomus, found in Australia.
Scaritinae is a large subfamily of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing more than 2400 species in over 140 genera. They are found worldwide.
Enicmus is a genus of beetles in the family Latridiidae, the minute brown scavenger beetles.
Stenoderini is a tribe of beetles in the subfamily Cerambycinae, containing the following genera and species:
Somatidia is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, containing the following species:
Pterostichini is a tribe of ground beetles in the subfamily Harpalinae. There are about 180 genera and more than 3,800 described species in Pterostichini.
