Metochus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are about 11 described species in Metochus, found in Indomalaya and eastern Asia. [1] [2]
These 11 species belong to the genus Metochus:
Alydidae, commonly known as broad-headed bugs, is a family of true bugs very similar to the closely related Coreidae. There are at least 60 genera and 300 species altogether. Distributed in the temperate and warmer regions of the Earth, most are tropical and subtropical animals; for example Europe has a mere 10 species, and only 2 of these occur outside the Mediterranean region.
Sphedanolestes is a large genus of assassin bugs in the family (Reduviidae), subfamily Harpactorinae. There are more than 190 described species, which are found in southern Europe, Africa and Asia.
Cercopidae are the largest family of Cercopoidea, a xylem-feeding insect group, commonly called froghoppers or spittlebugs. They belong to the hemipteran suborder Auchenorrhyncha. A 2023 phylogenetic study of the family suggested the elevation of subfamily Ischnorhininae to full family status as Ischnorhinidae, leaving a monophyletic Cercopinae.
Nezara is a genus of plant-feeding stink bug of the family Pentatomidae, first described by Charles Jean-Baptiste Amyot & Jean Guillaume Audinet-Serville in 1843.
Arocatus is a genus of bugs in the family Lygaeidae.
Lygaeus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are more than 60 described species in Lygaeus.
Eremocoris is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are at least 45 described species in the genus Eremocoris.
Ozophorini is a tribe of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 30 genera and 220 described species in Ozophorini.
Scolopostethus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 30 described species in Scolopostethus.
The Micrelytrinae are a subfamily of true bugs in the family Alydidae, based on the type genus Micrelytra Laporte, 1833. Genera are recorded from the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Ochlerus is a genus of true bugs belonging to the family Pentatomidae.
Metochus hainanensis is a species of dirt-colored seed bug in the family Rhyparochromidae, found in eastern China and Taiwan.
Neolethaeus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 20 described species in Neolethaeus, found mainly in Asia, Australia, and Africa.
Pachygrontha is a genus of seed bugs and allies in the family Pachygronthidae. There are more than 30 described species in Pachygrontha.
Metochus abbreviatus is a species of dirt-colored seed bug in the family Rhyparochromidae, found in eastern and Southeast Asia.
Horridipamera is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are about 13 described species in Horridipamera.
Naphius is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are about seven described species in Naphius.
Cosmoscarta is a genus of froghoppers found in the Indo-Malayan region. Many of the species are boldly marked in black and red or yellow. A few species are of economic importance as they can cause injury to plants under cultivation.
