The genus contains only two species: [3]
Zyxomma is a genus of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. Species of Zyxomma are small to medium-sized, dully coloured, crepuscular insects. They are known as Duskdarters. Members of Zyxomma are found in India, Japan, Africa and Australia.
Erpetogomphus is a genus of dragonfly in the family Gomphidae. They are commonly known as ringtails. Most of the species are predominantly green coloured and the males have a moderately clubbed tail. A fossil species are known from the Miocene Mexican amber
Leptobasis is a small genus of damselflies in the family Coenagrionidae. They are commonly known as swampdamsels. The genus is neotropical and one species, L. melinogaster, has been recorded in Texas. They are slender and the females have very long ovipositors.
Macromia is a genus of large dragonflies in the family Macromiidae. Species of the genus Macromia are commonly known as river cruisers from their habit of cruising long distances along river banks. Most species occur in the tropical Australasian region, with one species being found in Europe , and a few species occurring in North America.
Rhyothemis is a genus of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. They are commonly known as flutterers.
Stylurus is a genus of dragonflies in the family Gomphidae. They are commonly known as hanging clubtails from their habit of hanging nearly vertically when they perch.
Tramea basilaris, also known as the keyhole glider, red marsh trotter, or wheeling glider, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is found throughout most of Africa, Arabia and in Asia. Capable of very long migration and nomadic flight, it reached Europe once, being recorded at the island of Linosa, Sicily (Italy) in 2016. Similarly, this species is able to use the trade winds to reach the Caribbean and South Americas, where it was caught in Suriname, "Guadeloupe" and "martinique".
Tramea is a genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae, the skimmers and perchers. Species of Tramea are found in tropical and subtropical regions around the globe. They typically have colored bases to their otherwise translucent hindwings. In particular when they fly, this creates the impression of their carrying bags at the start of their abdomens. They are known commonly as saddlebags or saddlebags gliders.
Tramea limbata is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. Its common names include black marsh trotter, ferruginous glider and voyaging glider.
Urothemis is a genus of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. Species of Urothemis can be medium-sized dragonflies which occur from Africa, across Asia to Indonesia and Australia.
Zenithoptera is a genus of dragonfly. They occur in Central America and northern South America. Their habitat is grassy marshes or clearings.
Pantala is a genus of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae commonly called the rainpool gliders. They are found almost worldwide. Species of Pantala are medium-sized to large, dull orange-yellow dragonflies.
Tholymis is a genus of medium-sized dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. Species of Tholymis are tropical, active mostly at dawn and dusk.
Cannaphila is a small Neotropical genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. They are commonly called narrow-winged skimmers. One species, C. insularis, occurs in North America. There are three species.
Brachymesia is a genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. They are commonly known as tropical pennants.
Tauriphila is a genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. They are commonly known as Pasture Gliders. The species are neotropical with two, the Garnet and Aztec Gliders reaching the southern USA.
Rhodopygia is a genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. They are neotropical species, occurring in Guatemala, Belize through Bolivia and Brazil.
Hydrobasileus croceus, the amber-winged marsh glider, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is a widely distributed species in many Asian countries.
Urothemis signata, the greater crimson glider, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is widespread in many Asian countries. A number of subspecies are recognized for this species.
Miathyria marcella, the hyacinth glider, is a species of skimmer in the dragonfly family Libellulidae. It is found in the Caribbean Sea, Central America, North America, and South America.
