Microkayla iatamasi is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. [2]
It is endemic to Bolivia and only known from near its type locality at the northern limit of the Carrasco National Park, Cochabamba Department, at elevations of 2,600–4,192 m (8,530–13,753 ft) asl. [2] [1] Its natural habitats are cloud forest, elfin forest, and humid páramo. It is considered to be an abundant species within its small distribution area. The latter makes it susceptible to stochastic events. In addition, climate change is a potential threat. [1]
Cypress is a common name for various coniferous trees or shrubs of northern temperate regions that belong to the family Cupressaceae. The word cypress is derived from Old French cipres, which was imported from Latin cypressus, the latinisation of the Greek κυπάρισσος (kyparissos). Cypress trees are a large classification of conifers, encompassing the trees and shrubs from the cypress family (Cupressaceae) and many others with the word cypress in their common name. Many cypress trees have needle-like, evergreen foliage and acorn-like seed cones.

The leaf muntjac, leaf deer or Putao muntjac is a small species of muntjac. It was documented in 1997 by biologist Alan Rabinowitz during his field study in the isolated Nogmung Township in Myanmar. Rabinowitz discovered the species by examining the small carcass of a deer that he initially believed was the juvenile of another species; however, it proved to be the carcass of an adult female. He managed to obtain specimens, from which DNA analysis revealed a new cervid species. Local hunters knew of the species and called it the leaf deer because its body could be completely wrapped by a single large leaf. It is found in Myanmar and India.
The kipunji, also known as the highland mangabey, is a species of Old World monkey that lives in the highland forests of Tanzania. The kipunji has a unique call, described as a 'honk-bark', which distinguishes it from its relatives, the grey-cheeked mangabey and the black crested mangabey, whose calls are described as 'whoop-gobbles'.
The Visayan spotted deer, also known as the Visayan deer, the Philippine spotted deer or Prince Alfred's deer, is a small, endangered, primarily nocturnal species of deer found in the rainforests of the Visayan Islands of Panay and Negros. It once was found across other islands, such as Cebu, Guimaras, Leyte, Masbate, and Samar. It is one of three endemic deer species found in the Philippines, although it was not recognized as a separate species until 1983. An estimated 2,500 mature individuals survived worldwide in 1996, according to the IUCN; today’s surviving wild number is uncertain. The diet of the deer, which consists of a variety of different types of grasses, leaves, and buds within the forest, is the primary indicator of its habitat. Since 1991, the range of the species has severely decreased and is now almost co-extensive with that of the Visayan warty pig.
The bobak marmot, also known as the steppe marmot, is a species of marmot that inhabits the steppes of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It is a social animal and inhabits steppe grassland, including cultivated field borders. It hibernates for more than half the year. Litter sizes average about five offspring and it takes three years for the young marmots to reach sexual maturity. Male offspring leave the home colony after their second winter, and about 60% of mature females give birth in any one year.

It is endemic to Bolivia and only known from near its type locality in the Carrasco National Park, Cochabamba Department, at elevations of 3,250–3,400 m (10,660–11,150 ft) asl. It is a common species living in low, humid montane forest typical to the transition between Yungas forest and páramo. Outside the national park, if present, it would be threatened by habitat loss.
Microkayla kempffi is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Bolivia where it is known from the Serranía Siberia in the Cochabamba and Santa Cruz Departments. Its natural habitats are cloud and elfin forests where it has been found near rocks along a road, under stones and logs, on moss, and on tree roots. It can be active both day and night. It is threatened by habitat loss, and potentially, by climate change.

It is known from an area consisting of a mixture of elfin forest and pastures, where it was found under stones in a humid stream bed. Smallholder agriculture and climate change are potential threats to this species.
