"Millions" is a song recorded by South Korean boy group Winner. It was released on December 19, 2018 under the label YG Entertainment and is distributed by Genie Music. [1] [2]

Contents

Background and release

On December 11, 2018, YG Entertainment published a group poster with the words "Coming Soon". [3] Two days later, it was revealed that Winner's comeback would consist of a single album that would be released online on December 19. [4] On December 14, it was announced that the single was entitled "Millions" through a poster crediting Kang Seung-yoon, Song Min Ho and Lee Seung Hoon for the lyrics and Kang Seung-yoon, Kang Uk-jin and Diggy for the composition of the song. [5]

Solo posters of the members were released on December 17 [6] and a final poster was published a few hours prior to the release along with a teaser of the music video. [7] The group held an hour-long comeback special live "Merry Millions Day" on Naver's V App on December 19 at 5 PM (KST). [8] The music video was released at 6PM (KST). [9] The making film was published the following day. [10] A performance video with he full choreography was released on December 21. [11]

Composition

Tamar Herman of Billboard describes "Millions" as a "feel-good dance track that brings a summery feel" and that is "fronted by plucky strings, snappy drum beats, and bright whistle synth effects." [12] Woo Jae-yeon of Yonhap News Agency defines it as "a tropical-pop dance song." [13]

Promotion

Winner held their comeback stage on MBC's Show! Music Core on December 22. [14] They promoted the song on several music programs in South Korea, including Inkigayo .

Winner (Korean: 위너), stylized as WINNER, is a South Korean boy band consisting of four members: Jinwoo, Seunghoon, Mino and Seungyoon. The band was formed in 2013 by YG Entertainment through Mnet survival program WIN: Who Is Next leading to their official debut on August 17, 2014 with studio album 2014 S/S. Originally a five-piece band, Taehyun, departed from the group in November 2016 for his mental health and well-being. Upon their debut, The Korea Herald cited their immediate success as "unprecedented" for a new group, thus dubbed as "Monster rookies". Winner is often cited as a "self-producing" band with all members actively taking on roles from producing and choreographing to designing and marketing. The band also earned the titles "Trust and Listen" alongside "Kings of Summer" by media outlets and the general public through releases.

The Boyz (South Korean band) South Korean boy band

The Boyz is a South Korean boy group formed by Cre.ker Entertainment in 2017. The group debuted on December 6, 2017 with the song "Boy". The group’s current line-up consists of Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Sunwoo and Eric; former member Hwall officially left the group in October 2019 due to health reasons.

TXT (band) South Korean boy band

Tomorrow X Together, commonly known as TXT, is a five-member South Korean boy group formed by Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of five members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai. They debuted on March 4, 2019 with the EP The Dream Chapter: Star. The album debuted and peaked at number one on the Gaon Album Chart and Billboard World Albums Chart and entered the US Billboard 200 at number 140, at the time becoming the highest-charting debut album by any male K-pop group. The album's lead single "Crown" debuted atop the World Digital Songs with TXT topping the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart, making them the fastest K-Pop group to appear in World Digital Songs and the second fastest K-Pop group to appear in the Billboard Emerging Artist.
