Mirattal (transl. Threatening) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by R. Madhesh starring Vinay, Sharmila Mandre and Prabhu in the lead roles, Pradeep Rawat, Pandiarajan, and Santhanam in supporting roles, and Rishi in a cameo. A remake of the successful Telugu film, Dhee . [2] The film was released on 2 August 2012. [3]
Babloo (Vinay) is a happy-go-lucky person who gets sent by his father (Pandiarajan) to Shankar Dhadha (Prabhu), a big don in the city. Shankar has a vengeance on Soori (Pradeep Rawat). Babloo meets Deepika (Sharmila Mandre), Shankar's sister, and love blossoms between them. One day, they get married in a temple, and some goons sent by Soori attack Babloo and Deepika. Babloo fights them, and Shankar comes there. Comedy takes place as Deepika's engagement occurs, when suddenly, some goons kidnap her. Shankar and Babloo kill the goons and Soori and rescue Deepika.
The film is a remake of the successful Telugu language film, Dhee , and originally Madhesh approached Genelia D'Souza to reprise her role in the original and pair up with Vinay. [4] She did not accept, however, and Sharmila Mandre was subsequently signed on to replace Genelia and make her debut in Tamil films. [5] In September 2010, filming of the songs were held across regions in England with scenes filmed near castles in Richmond and Windsor in London. The team also shot at Bath, becoming the first Indian film to do so. [6] Other locations in England where the songs where filmed include Eastbourne near Brighton, Oxfordshire and Surrey. [7] The fight sequence was shot at London's famous landmarks like the University of East London, the Tower Bridge, areas around the Buckingham Palace, Oxford University Aerodrome and London Airport with three cameras. [8] The film's title was changed from Thillu Mullu to Mirattal in November 2011. [9]

Rohit Ramachandran of Nowrunning.com rated it 1.5 out of 5 saying that it "numbs the senses". [11] Vivek Ramz of in.com rated it 2.5 out of 5, and added that the film "lacks in the action department but makes up for it by scoring on the entertainment front". [12] Malathi Rangarajan of The Hindu wrote, "'Hundred per cent Thillu Mullu' is the tagline – 'and zero per cent logic' would have described Mirattal better." [13]
Manayangath Subramanian Viswanathan, also known as M.S.V., was an Indian music director, singer and actor who predominantly worked in Tamil film industry. Popularly known by the sobriquet "Mellisai Mannar", he composed songs for more than 800 Indian films and various albums across languages primarily in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He has also acted and sung in a few Tamil films. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa conferred the "Thirai Isai Chakravarthy" title on him in August 2012 and presented him with 60 gold coins and a new car.

Thillu Mullu (transl. Hanky-panky) is a 1981 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by K. Balachander and written by Visu. A remake of the 1979 Hindi film Gol Maal, it stars Rajinikanth, with Thengai Srinivasan, Nagesh, Poornam Viswanathan, Sowcar Janaki, Madhavi and Viji Chandrasekhar in supporting roles. The film is about Chandran, who lies to his boss to get a leave but gets caught. To save his job, he is forced to pretend to his boss that he has a twin brother.

Velayudham is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language superhero film directed by Mohan Raja and produced by V. Ravichandran under Aascar Film. Thillu Mullu is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed and co-written by Badri. It is a remake of the 1981 Tamil film of the same name which was a remake of the 1979 Hindi film Gol Maal. The film stars Shiva and Isha Talwar. Prakash Raj enacted the character played by Thengai Srinivasan. Kovai Sarala, Soori, Sathyan, Ilavarasu and Manobala played supporting roles. The music was jointly scored by M. S. Viswanathan and Yuvan Shankar Raja who for the first time worked together. While the film's muhurat took place on 24 August, the shooting commenced in September. The film was released on 14 June 2013.
Nalanum Nandhiniyum is a 2014 Tamil romance film written and directed by Venkatesan R., a former associate director of Venkat Prabhu, here making his debut as solo director. The film is produced by Ravindar Chandrasekaran under his production house, The Libra Productions. Santhanam is an Indian actor and film producer who has predominantly appeared in Tamil films as a comedian and also has appeared in films in a lead role. He began his career on television shows including Vijay TV's Lollu Sabha enacting the lead role in spoofs of Tamil films. He was subsequently given a chance by actor Silambarasan in a supporting role in Manmadhan (2004) and then was signed on to appear in films including Sachien (2005) and Polladhavan (2007). He appeared in a one-off leading role in Shankar's production Arai En 305-il Kadavul (2008) and subsequently became a staple feature as a comedian in successful Tamil films during the period, with his market popularity helping stuck films find distributors. Santhanam has also had embarked on collaborations with directors including M. Rajesh's comic trilogy of Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009), Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010) and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012).
